No one is saying you can't lie or be sneaky to win the game, but at the end of the day you have to remember that people have feelings and you can't cross a certain line with them. The least he could have done was tell each evictee the truth about why they were sent home. If you claim to be in control of the game the whole time, don't for even a second tell others you weren't.

@alexisv50445 жыл бұрын
Steves Coffee yes. Despite seeming like a robot...yes. Also, Paul intentionally would tell his groupies to bully people in the house to get them off their mental game when he already had the numbers no matter what happened. He told them to make fun of Cody being a marine and to make fun of Kevin for being old. To me that’s crossing the line of just playing the game and being personal. He told people to attack personal attributes and belittle them for it. That is disgusting, inexcusable and not worth half a million dollars
@ganthc4 жыл бұрын
Also, Josh was smart in throwing Paul under the bus in his final messages before the evicted went to jury. Which meant that Paul’s messages looked like lies, and when people compared notes, he had lots of bitter jurors. That season sucked, because Paul was given gobs of power to start with, having friendship bracelets, and then three full weeks of immunity. However, I think he should have won against Nichole. She was not the stronger player. It really came down to him just being an awful human being and he was that unlikeable.
@alexisv50444 жыл бұрын
ganthc Fair enough, but there is no rule on saying that jurors should vote for the best player. If it was then Paul would’ve won BB 19 for the same reason that Nicole won 18 for having a big red Veteran X on her back from day one. It’s not easy being a vet when you are or at least should be a target from day 1.
@ganthc4 жыл бұрын
Alexis V nope, they don’t have to, which is why juror management is part of the game. If Steve had chosen Vanessa, she might have also faced a similar problem. He had it made the second he walked into BB19

Cody gave him the game in my opinion if Cody would have acted differently the whole season would have been different and I have 3 points to defend my argument. 1 Cody didn't tell anyone in his alliance what his plan was or what he was doing creating a bridge between him and them 2 he didnt even consider Paul might be safe, I am sorry but every vet had some sort of safety when they come back look at Dan in bb 14 he wasn't even available to be evicted until brought back into the game he had 3 lives to Ian's one. 3. Once his plan blew up he did NOTHING to fix the relationships in his alliance and if wasn't for Jessica he wouldn't have even made it to jury Cody had the best chance to make this season good but changed for attacking Paul way to early and I blame him for Paul's game play And reason 4 after week three there is no reason to not put up Paul and he convincinces everyone to not do that when they have every reason to put him up.

TheAngryBoi nonono, listen, maybe they were salty, sure. BUT my biggest issue with Paul and the main reason I'm glad he lost is he lied ALLLL the way through the jury questioning etc. He wouldn't own up to his moves in his goodbye messages or in his speech or anything. He kept pretending to be the good guy; THAT's where he messed up. It's one thing to lie and backstab, and losing for that reason IS a bitter jury. But lying, backstabbing, and refusing to own up to your actions? No, you deserve to lose.

xFalsify Hmm... Reminds me of Hillary in the American election. She kept lying in those interview things with her against Trump. For example, she was aiming for some fly zone thing that would result in war with Russia (I'm Australian so I don't know this so well.) anyway, she knew perfectly well that it would result in war, but started that it was not any intention of that, yet she continued to go for the fly zone. You do realize and the bitter jury needs to realize that only one person can win big brother! People who make it far tell people what they want to hear! Nicole has to lie to get Natalie to put up her own alliance. And she had to lie again to save her and Corey! Paul can’t try to save someone when the whole house wants them gone. They have to realize that it’s bad for his game and stop being selfish and understand that there is nothing he can do! A good jury in big brother is supposed to be like a good jury in court. You’re suppose to be unbiased and put your personal feelings to the side and vote for what is right! The right thing to do was to vote for the person who played a better game strategically and that was Paul both times! He deserved that first place both times and everyone knows it! Even cbs did that’s why they gave him another chance to come back and he made it to final two AGAIN! that is way more than enough to give him that win the second time he came back because that is extremely hard! And he was playing against vets!

Just now realizing how bad that Jason answer was. - He was talking about how when he said he'd do something, he'd do it, when people in the jury directly knew it was a lie. What, did he expect them to distrust what they themselves heard from him? - He pretended he was powerless to save people, right before a final speech where he said he controlled everything.

He lost because he didn’t put the right people on the jury. Making the biggest moves and having the most strategic plan doesn’t always guarantee you a win in big brother. What gets you the win is having more jury votes than the person sitting next to you. You have to know the jury and how they will vote. Some people vote on gameplay while other vote just for personal preference. If you don’t understand the jury, you will lose the game. The jury is the most important part of big brother.

We've known since BB3 that the best player doesn't always win even when they put themselves in a position to be dragged to final 2 no matter what. The jury is there for a reason. If you can't manage it then you don't deserve to win. Paul didn't grow as a player and it cost him.

The making faces and shaking his head and being disrespectful towards his opponents when they are talking is what I dislike the most. I also don't like how he doesn't apologize. And everyone knew he was straight up lying when he said, "if the house wanted that person out there was nothing I could do". He was the one planning each eviction and backstabbing everyone. He took the jury for granted. He figured once he got them out, he didn't have to worry about them anymore. That's the biggest mistake a lot of these finalist makes. Britney pointed that out with Dan in S14 when she told him that as a juror, she takes how these players treated her on a personal level into consideration when voting. It's why Dan lost S14 and why Paul lost twice.

Literally where Paul went wrong is being an asshole for no reason and being shady about it too. He literally instructed Josh and others to do his dirty work for him. If he was gonna play an Evel Dick type of game, he needed to own it. Compare it to Derrick's win: Derrick was at times a bit boring for my tastes, but you could tell he was a genuinely nice person who got out who he needed to, and didn't create unnecessary hard feelings. They respected him as both a player and a person, and that's why he won in a landslide. The jury in BB19 weren't bitter because Paul outplayed them, they were mad that he was a shady POS who wasn't nice to people. At least when Josh went off on his rants he said what he thought and was honest about it.

It's just wrong for BB to put a ruthless vet like Paul in a game full of newbs. It was like sending a wolf in to slaughter sheep. From the beginning they were so intimidated by Paul that they fell into line and took orders from Paul. Cody realized immediately it wasn't going to be a fair game. I bet in hindsight they all regret that Cody didn't succeed in getting Paul out, they all would have had a better chance to win. It was almost like BB handed Paul the game and ruined Cody's game by secretly giving Paul three weeks safety. Had Cody known about it, he could have waited for three weeks to be up and wouldn't have got hammered for trying to put Paul on the block. From that moment on, Cody's game was ruined.

paul is one hell of a player, but he lacks good jury management. the difference between him and derrick is that derrick was a nice guy that everyone in the house felt safe with and loved. derrick played everyone, but was also nice to them and so they were impressed with him instead of mad at him. paul just rubbed people the wrong way and played very dirty. that’s why he lost

I'm a huge BB fan, and I love houseguests that exhibit great strategic gameplay. I especially love players that were considered "villians," such as Dr. Will, Danielle Reyes, James (BB6), Dan Gheesling, as well as many others because of how ruthlessly they approached the game. Despite this, I hated Paul. On paper, Paul is one of the greatest players to ever play the game, and I should love him due to his villainous tactics. But I don't, and in fact was actively rooting against him in both seaons he played. Do I think he was robbed? Yes, although much more in season 19 than 18 (Nicole had a legit claim to the title, but there were way more deserving people than Josh in that season [Christmas]). There is just something so unlikeable about him, and the only equivalent I can compare him to would be the Friendship from BB6. You didn't love to hate the Friendship, you just hated them. The members weren't charismatic or funny like Dr. Will, they were just genuinely awful people and each one exhibited behaviors that make a person universally despised in real life. As in, we all know someone who is an unrepentant liar like Jennifer, a hypocritical and malicious gossip like April, or an abrasively loud racist (production cut out the parts where she calls Kaysar a Sand N*****) with a perpetual victim complex like Ivette. Similarly, Paul is like a bully that we've all had that tries to turn our friends and acquaintances against us to make our lives miserable. I dislike him because his tactics hit too close to home, and I was unable to enjoy his manipulation of the houseguests because I empathized with whichever player was being ostrasized that week. In a sense I agree with both juries that denied him the win, because the use of bullying is not a tactic that I believe should be rewarded, even if it was extremely effective.

I’m sorry but this is satisfying to see😂 I wasn’t a big fan of Paul. Granted he was good at this game but the producers just deliberately had him back on with a bunch of sheep players and it was just evident that he was gonna get to the end twice, it was sad to watch him continue to manipulate so easily.... TWICE. And for a good player, he had the absolute worst jury management 🤷🏾♂️

The difference between Paul and Tyler both having poor jury management is that Tyler was actually nice and the jury was just bitter because he eliminated them, while Paul was a douche which is why the jury was bitter towards him.

I hated Paul the whole season 2017... When it came down to it I felt like I was coming up with any reason for why he didn't deserve to win. Because in what world did we think JOSH would win? I asked myself if I was being bitter like if I would look back and say, you know what Paul deserved it. But after time has passed I still feel the same way. I wish anyone but Josh was sitting next to Paul but it was still better than Paul winning and that says a lot. It's not even about "jury management". It's about being all around likeable person or even just not crossing the line of being fake. What pissed me off watching was he knew before when he was going to lie to someone. He planned to lie in a hurtful way in situations that he didn't have to.
@thatswhatsgood246 жыл бұрын
Yeah theres strategic lying and then just straight up being fake, i dont think he had one honest conversation with any one except for maybe josh or christmas when he said he was taking them with him. You cant act like you allied with everyone then be upset when they are upset you lied to their face the whole time they were there

Shlankyman545 you’re aware that you don’t necessarily have to be a “strategic mastermind” to win Big Brother or Survivor, right? You can do absolutely nothing and still win.

The best part of this video was watching him lose twice. :) :) :) When there was one vote left between Josh and him and he knew it was Cody's vote and he starts crying, saying "No no no, not again!" I can't help but smirk. I'm a nice guy in my every day life, but I have no respect for him and I hope he learned something from this experience and will be better at showing respect towards others going forward.
