How pausing breaks 3Xtreme in-game music

When starting/playing any race, if you quickly pause and unpause the game, parts of the music will stop.
This is because they are not continuous, but rather divided into small parts where each instrument is played in sequence, forming a song. As some are faster and others are longer, pausing ends up breaking the long parts making the music (in the case of this game) play incomplete for a few milliseconds.
