Hi Teets, just so you know, M8 never practiced Pearl. Since its a new team they didnt have the time to do it so they went in with strats given from the leader of Mandatory ( another french team). They basically won Apex with no training on the map at all !

Maybe "Carried" isn't the right terminology, but I was trying to show that you can have a Phoenix centered gameplan and make it to franchising. It was amazing to me how this team ran him on so many maps and made it that far. Isn't Phoenix supposed to be weak? Perhaps I should've picked and chose clips from a bunch of different matches and broke them down. But thanks for the feedback regardless!

I personally don't like pearl that much, but I know the pros who play this game do, its such a unique map and one of the only maps that has weird wacky agents being played on it, and since breeze is coming back and fracture also being removed, the meta is just going to be jett, sova, viper. Kinda boring

I've gotta just be ignorant here or just missing something but it feels like for most of this video pheonix is a bit of a thrower. maybe not a thrower but almost all the highlighted plays were made by the non-duelists. It felt like a video payed off by the pheonix mafia. Like we're rooting for a potential pheonix that just isn't in this game. - Round 6-6 he dies halls and its only close 'cause sage pops off with the armor piercing rounds on the classic. - Round 6-7 he does get the hot hands combo but dies doing it (while missing on 2 flashed enemies. yes i know he had a classic but this is high level val and the jett wasn't even looking at him at the start). Astra then works very well off of the low health of the enemies. - Calling round 8-7 a "instant round win" if they res felt weird. They only brought back the round because skye and sage got a 3k from the over commitment to stop the res and pheonix ended up whiffing the ult. (also its kinda odd to say skye didn't know that cypher had walked up when he literally insta killed her ult from A link meaning she should be VERY worried about that angle instead of an astra in secret she knows probably isn't there yet because of her ult) - Round 8-8 he dies hall again and instead jett's decision to push street is questioned. - Round 8-9 it is mentioned that M8's win condition is going long and pheonix dies peeking street. I know he doesn't also have to be long, I just think he should be playing in a way his teammates can work off of. If they are playing long and hall, don't just give the enemy the numbers, especially on an important round like 8-9. Basically it feels odd to play inside a space your teammates are literally playing to kinda let go of. Skye then gets 2 from hall and astra and sage then play long and win. Again the non-duelists bringing back the round momentum. - Round 9-9 he distracts for the jett but still manages to die to the last enemy and its portrayed as a good thing cause he has ult for next. He did get the ko pick though. - Round 10-9 he blinds himself, whiffs ult again, and only gets the kill because jett is stuck in 2 slowing abilities. he then gets the another because ko is focused on whiffing on the dog instead of unpeaking and then splitting attention between flank and site. or even just saving. - Round 11-9 he pushes out while vulnerable to an astra pull that I'm pretty sure he just straight up ran into (its hard to tell but it looks like he just walks in after the first flash). Luckily skye goes big 'cause gekko uses dizzy in a spot he probably should've known wouldn't hit due to the audio from skye shooting wingman. - Round 12-10 was straight up a good round for pheonix. It is a little sad that the highest impact pheonix ult that was shown was taking down a trip/distracting for jett's lurk, but he had really good flash into dugout that also flashed the 3 in secret. (honestly it feels like if jett hadn't smoked for him or gekko hadn't tucked to ult he would gotten shot in the back for taking that long on the astra kill) Sorry for the text wall and I'm not trying to be rude or nitpicky or anything. It's just rather than a pheonix carry, this match seems more like a masterclass on how to play off of a sub par pheonix, utilize a lurking jett by supplementing the weaker entry with skye, and generally play the mind game. I love these videos and the personality/editing in them and obviously everyone in this video is much MUCH better than me, but I just wanted to let out my thoughts on this one 'cause of the disconnect between the message/title of the video and what I was seeing playout.
