In this video, we use a 3D model to explain how the plate heat exchanger works and why it is so efficient.
The 3D model is animated so we can take it apart and view all the main components. We look at the plate stack, frame, gaskets and clamping bolts etc.
We mention the plate design and how it seals to separate the two flowing mediums.
The advantages and disadvantages of this type of heat exchanger are discussed and we compare some of these features to the shell and tube type heat exchanger.

Disclaimer: I mentioned in the video that there are only two types of heat exchanger in the industrial world, this is not true, there are two COMMON types of heat exchanger used in the industrial world (plate type, and, shell and tube type). Sorry for the error.
