I did this with an xbox and a pc. The success rate is much lower when using two different devices. I did find that if your on PC and have a friend to do this with, you can launch a vpn and connect to an area with a low player count. You will match up 9 out of 10 times with your friend.

All in all, it would be a good idea to try, for example, on a slup to find yourself with a friend on the same server ( it has worked out a few times already for FOTD staking) on a slup the fastest way to go especially if you play solo, that's why I gave this example. One friend fires an hourglass of athena, the other a dice, and you kill each other on the same server, recover reasonably close to the place of death as a rule, and sail again, not only does it stak win streak, but also if someone finds you, to a friend, can swim up and help sink the enemy. Rude? Perhaps, but if it works then why not.

@@notvexify The idea was to get together with your friend on the same server, you kill each other and you have a respown on the same server, because If you win you stay and your opponent sinks but stays on the same session , and that's how you have a friend on the server, as if you have 8 friends, and you manage to find together you have 8 people on one session, which is broken if in each team people know how to play, at least that's how it worked a year ago

A stamp is a set of servers. Because not all servers can interact with each other. 1 Stamp is x amount of servers but they are the ones you will go to if you merge or switch server

You can match with yourself sink said alt account and quit the game on alt account before it gets kicked out of the sever relaunch game and stay on the same sever all day. sailing to alt account on the map raising the faction hourglass on alt account then shoot it once with a cannonball so it counts as a sink for your main account repeating the whole quitting the game relaunch process indefinitely. Just rejoin the session before 10mins to not get kicked and your alt account will never permanently get kicked and you can farm a streak all day long.

You'll be sailing around to each place your alt spawns just be carefull because your tricking the game from changing seas on the alt account that your farming wins from. The game should kick your alt out after 3ish minutes if you try to set sail on it. I guess the game figures it out sometimes not. But I believe rare put in a bug/patch to stop you from voting on hourglass if you managed to trick the game from kicking you. Your hourglass will be bugged and you won't be able to represent any faction. This never used to be the case.

You can use this strat to get two ships on the same server but one will be confined to a circle on the map and once it sinks your friend will leave. So you will need to hide it really well behind some rocks away from islands. So nobody sinks it.

If it is, it will be a last resort like same faction battles. There is a priority system that effects matchmaking. Number one priority are ships that have been under water for long periods. Next priority are ships on the same stamp. Next priority after that is cross stamp and last resort would be same factions.

It being more or less enjoyable is completely subjective. But cheesing is the most effective way to obtain the curse in the least amount of time. Which would be the smartest/optimal way to get it. In the end, whether you played by the rules or not everyone is happy when they get the curse.

This had crossed my mind at first because I have done the math and I understand it’s probably a solid 800-1000 hours to get 1000 for both curses.. which is absolutely insane. I just don’t know how anyone could be happy with knowing they cheesed their way to the top.. The curses are meant to represent your experience and high success in hourglass, atleast this early on… It’s beyond pathetic if anyone exploits their way to 1000 imo.

This is why SOT will never be a competitive-like game. The feeling after watching this vid feels like earning a military ribbon in front of sweats and pretentious dudes that claim proudly about their skill in the game and about how the game has competitive components. And also it shows that the game has answers for people that thinks outside the box (not the sandbox but the actual game itself). As a PC player, cool vid for learning purposes.

As a service, the hardcore conservative fanbase is a burden Rare has to constantly deal with and keep happy as a courtesy. Season 9 was a big point on my theory, because it would be a sh*t update for them if it wasn't for the red sea change. If the game has not received a recent gamechanging feature it is bc of them, because im sure that Rare could've kicked the table a few more times -besides the harpoon introduction- since the game's release if it wasn't for some content creators and cringe "pvp evangelists" yelling out on reddit on why they don't want a new thing that would force them into learn something.

@@IllogicalJJ And notice that im a veteran of the game, i like SoT because it is a damned cool sandbox, and aiming for casuals is the smart move as the game's business model is a service, casual players don't want to invest 6 hours into an all or nothing. That said, promoting competitive features for less than -maybe?- 10% of the playerbase worldwide across all platforms is a suicidal move, that's why arena closed after a painful remake, that's why people is moving on from the hg once they get their fav curses. Sot is about piracy, stealing booty and laughing every now and then. Competitive modes, although fun, also end up revealing all the technical weaknesses of the game. They fix their technical mess first, and then we all agree they can spend thousands of hours into competitive stuff.

​@@exhausting_thoughts I've played since launch and I've always felt the pvp and pve should be separate. The game is built to grind (albeit in mostly fun challenges) but that turns casual players off when its so easy to lose that time invested because a better pvp player happens upon them. The Arena was a great solution but got bogged down by wait times just to have to contest with tdm. And imo the larger base of pvp players like trolling/preying on easy targets. Separate modes built specifically to accommodate both styles of play would solve so many issues.

@@exhausting_thoughts I do agree with your theory in regard to veteran players trying to gatekeep if you will. Pandering to them by changing the Red Sea was a bad move in my opinion. I personally went and got the Shores of gold check point after completing it 5 times just so I can chase people into that sea. I think that was the move. I always said you are not a true pirate legend if you don't have a shores of gold checkpoint or server hop checkpoint. However I do understand the grief as I too have been around since 2018. I have seen them make the game easier for new players over and over, as new players come and go. Meanwhile we vets are over here with our hands up like "Don't we matter?"

The only thing I can see them doing is disabling hour glass battles for certain people like they disabled shipwreck voyages for people who were exploiting that. However that is an exploit and this isnt really an exploit

@@tonisx0849 There was an exploit where you can lay veil voyages and cancel them. Then sail out to the shipwrecks and there would be tons of loot floating. Some people did that so many times that Rare made it so they cant have those voyages anymore.

It only works for so long, you will need to have both accounts win/lose. If you only have your main win you will stop being matched with that account. You could also just creat multiple alts.

Yes and no. If there are others playing at the same time on the same stamp then yes eventually you will not match against the other ship. But if you’re on pc like me and vpn with a friend to a very dead server location the you will almost always get the same match no matter because after a minute or 2 it gives up and matches you against whoever hence why sometimes it seems so weird how you got matched against a player who is way worse or way better than you at the game

i use it for tdms with other people, pretty messed up to use to level up hourglass. Just like theres a code for not attacking people just doing tall tales we dont use this to cheese the hourglass rep, but theres always ones who'd abuse it.

Idk what your on about, just like pirate legend these curses are irrelevant to player/crew skill, at best it lets me know they have a basic understanding of the game. Even before cheese, heavy loss farming, or people just grinding it out with determination even though they mainly lost and being garbage was just as common, I hardly ever see a golden curse or even normal curse from pvp and think, "yeah, makes sense that they have it" it's more like, "really? You put in the time for that?"
