Absolutely phenomenal work Dave! I've always thought that the difficulty debate was an interesting one, and it makes me really happy to see a positive take on the easier difficulties :)

I played this game on custom difficulty, doubling not only the exp gained but also enemy's attack damage. Cuz I love challenging battle, but I hate having to grind for too long.

I like the more personal take on the game. I haven't played it yet, so I can't say much on the game itself. I kinda dug the face cam this time, think it will continue from now on? Also if you're going the route of playing stuff on Very Easy from now on, to provide experiences from that side of gaming, maybe a name change to "Very Easy Dave" or something would be in order? haha I think it's a good/fun gimmick. I look forward to ZTD, as I HAVE played that game! Woo!

Thanks :D Yeah, the "appearing on camera" will be a feature from now on. :) Heh, we'll see. If I stick with playing on easy I might consider a name change, but over the years I've never been able to think of a better channel name than my current one (as silly as that sounds). I do highly recommend giving Persona 4 a go.

When I watched this video I was shocked to see your channel only has 500 subscribers and is still pretty small despite being around for a long time. this video is edited and structured so well it seems like you’d be pulling atleast 10k views per video. I enjoyed this video and it was wonderful from start to finish. You gained a subscriber today and I know this video was a year ago but keep this content up because I was obviously recommended it so something’s working. I know you’ll gain yourself a way bigger audience soon if you keep up your lives and analysis videos. Your channel is great and I hope for nothing but the best

Thank you so much for the kind words. I’m happy you enjoyed it and are sticking around. Making these videos is still a blast so I’ll be doing this hopefully for years to come. 😁

It's cool you found a way to enjoy P4G. For me, just like P5, the danger of death in a dungeon is what kept me coming back. I was bored in P4G before I ran out of SP and still had to find a way to survive. I get that some people don't get any fun from the battle system but for me the battle system was what kept me going. I didn't like the characters that much but the battle rewards from focusing on social links made it worth it. Different strokes I guess.

Being able to get more money and EXP as an option is a godsend being an adult gamer. It STILL gave me a good challenge and I'm breezing by the game at a solid pace.

Difficulty is not an impediment to the experience at all. Many games, especially from Atlus, benefit greatly from it, and become more memorable as a result. I just finished playing Persona 4, and the level pacing is phenomenal. Every boss poses a legitimate threat to me, and the game forces me to really rack my brain and come up with a strategy to win. That part of the game is half the fun for me, and really makes the story parts of the game hit much harder. I get that not everyone is into JRPGs for the challenge or gameplay, and solely prefer to experience the story, but difficulty in no way makes the game worse. Another fantastic example is the Shin Megami Tensei series, which is known for its difficulty and high intensity gameplay. They typically have light narratives but are carried with strong philosophical themes that are delivered to the player through highly challenging gameplay. It's like what makes Dark Souls so great except in JRPG form. Also, Atlus games actually get relatively easier the more you play and the stronger you get. That being said, it's a pretty good vid, nice job

I'm replaying golden again too at the moment, I wanted to gain the courage boost from the mini boss in Yukiko's castle to ask the number on new game... I played on normal so I was stuck at that boss, it's rampage killed my party all the time. I've come to think that RPGs or games where you don't control if your character dodges or blocks and it's all RNG is not worth playing on anything but very easy. Either demand skill from me as a player, or just show me the cutscenes. The combat isn't even the fun part of this game, it's the music, story and slice of life segments.

The combat system is actually possible to master. It's like playing poker, there are actions you can take to stack the odds in your favor. In other words, just get good, it's more satisfying assuming you have the capacity to get better.

I dont know if anyone gonn read this, but if you do i need an answer to my question. In some sites, they said that died in very easy mode give you chance to restart the battle from beginning. But the others said that you get revived on where you died, for example if you died when the enemy's hp is low, then you get revived with full hp and sp but the enemy's hp is still low. So which is true?

@Son_Joe_Productions8 ай бұрын
I do have to ask, is direct command still important to use or no? Because I don’t want my party members to lose Sp all the time, but I’m not great at making the best moves for the others. I just usually let it go on act freely in the Persona games.
@DavetheTurnip8 ай бұрын
I think so, but on easy difficulties you have more SP to play with and can use attack a lot of the time. Since you can switch it on and off, see how you like it. 🙂
