You can spend unreasonable amounts of money (48€+) to instantly unlock a hero, and then hundreds more to easily upgrade them to level 13 and stomp other players with epic weapons you got by buying gems. Honestly, I think Nekki just added shards to make people spend more money because they‘re so tedious and slow to get.

Bro, xiang tzu is quite similar to butcher btw in shadow fight 3 story after defeating galen, xiang tzu was dragged into mirror world with him, lynx failed when galen didn't bring marcus to him and then he sensed something interesting about xiang tzu, butcher was also there and he took the form of a demon (like unique skin) xiang tzu chose him after a duel with him. In the story of shadow fight arena, if you choose butcher to fight kotl, there will be a dialogue that says: 'evil from the deep, I bring justice to the man whose body was stolen by you'. I feel like maybe butcher's normal form looks like he has manipulated the entire xiang tzu, that's just my theory
