Ahhh, send me a photo of that kitchen girl🤗 I'm glad I painted the shelf. In my own kitchen I have jadeite green glass subway tiles and red and turquoise cabinets. I just went full throttle 30s-50s. Lol. I love color. 🥰✨

@@thedollcupboard That sounds gorgeous. I love color too! I just bought cherry wallpaper to put on the walls when we redo the kitchen this fall. I have that odd green color, red, white, black. Checks, cherries, vintage toy ovens.

I love mini printables Dot, it’s the cutting out and glueing part that’s the tedious part, needs must l suppose lol, I was surprised how easy it was to cut the scrabble tiles too, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧

Thank you Shirley🤗 Ya! I wanted the bookcase to look more like mine at home- random and full. I just found some more books I had so I can fill it even more. I have some cute children's books to make also that actually have pages. I need to fill those shelves in the nursery with children's things. 🥰✨

Those came out so cute. You had lots of tips here I plan to utilize in my future builds. I think using printables as you have here is perfect. 90% of the time I'm fine with printables. I'm not a fan of when a dimensional object (like a window) is just printed flat (unless it's intended for a child to play with - like a Barbie house). Nothing wrong with it, It's just a personal preference. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Sandy🤗 I know what you mean. I guess when it comes to printables for minis I usually think of three dimensional items made of paper. I did see some buildable furniture (including shelves and stoves) that had the details printed two dimensionally. I didn't care for those-but they would be good for children to play with as you mentioned. 🥰✨

I’ve only done a few printees, most of which were books. I used double sided tape and wrapped them in strips on the edge of recycled chipboard then cut them to size. That worked well for me because I tend to have more glue on me than whatever project I’m working on! I did do a couple food packages in a 1:48 scale using glue it didn’t work so well but this video has inspired me to try again!

Hi Annette🤗 I love this idea of using double sided tape. I don't have any on hand but I would like to try this technique. I can't even imagine trying it make any printables in a 1:48 scale.😳 I have great respect for you! 🥰✨

Dot those are very well done . I agree ballast is very important. Those little suckers will be all over the place with one breath🤣🤣🤣Ask your self how I know this 😩😩😩🥲Well sweet friend this is the fourth time I’m watching your video because as you know we’re always on the run . I love the idea of using branches for the soup can that’s really smart. Back then cans were wobbly and dented so bravo on that idea . Then pencils are smart too you can use the eraser part as tin with small labels and the wooden part as the whole covering labels.Have you watch the kit and caboodle episode when they used the clear pen cover as jars. Your getting better ever time don’t get down on yourself . 💕💕💕the pieces you made are adorable, and very well done. I love the shelf all the kitchen tools hanging from it 💕💕💕🤗 Oh so cute. I’m going to send you some pics of a few pieces I’ve done later today . Have to run errands 🤭now . Bye sweet friend great video 💕💕💕

Hi Grace🤗 Believe me, I know about having a few go's at watching a video before getting through the whole thing. I tried to create a dent on purpose but it didn't quite. work out. That's more advanced papercraft than I'm ready for. I just feel like my skills are not up to my earnestness🤣 I'm satisfied with this project and you can expect to see more mini printables in my dolls house. Next I have some books and games to make for the nursery. Ya! Send pictures anytime 😘🥰✨

Hello Dot, the books and cans look great, I mostly use free printables, or make my own by scanning boxes and labels, to my laptop, then resize them using the free version of Canva, Etsy is brilliant for finding miniature printables. I've only ever bought one download from Etsy, it was a Victorian tiled floor for my Toy shop roombox, I printed it onto photo paper, scored it then laminated it to stop it getting scratched or damaged, it turned out really well. We don't have printing places over here in the UK like you do over there. Have a lovely weekend. Best Wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧 😊

Hi Diane🤗 Hope your weekend is also lovely! I just printed these on my home printer and it was great. I'd like to learn the proper way to scan and resize images. I've heard good things about Canva but don't have it. Love the idea of doing a floor this way. One way or another there will be more printables in my life. 🥰✨

THIS WAS AWESOME!!! I STRUGGLE WITH PAPER MINIATURES TOO!!! CUTTING THE SCRABBLE TILES WAS GENIUS! I NEVER THOUGHT OF CUTTING THEM! l LOVE THIS VIDEO! I have used the metal part of the eraser,but cutting the pencils to use as can centers was EPIC!!! GREAT VIDEO!!! CONGRATULATIONS ON 2K SUBSCRIBERS!!! GO DOT GO!!!

Aw THANK YOU SO MUCH GRETCHEN!❤️ I was scared of injuring myself when I tried to cut the scrabble tile 😂They always seem so solid. LOL. It cut ALL WAYS EASILY with mitre shears. I wonder what else we can build with them🤔 😁THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND INSPIRATION!!! You ...have been... no, ARE! A PIVOTAL person in this journey for me! Everything is soooo adorable, Dot! Love knowing Scrabble tiles are so easy to cut! Wowzer! How amazing and useful! I’Ve always used them for book, but cutting them with sypuch ease means they would be perfect as food boxes, gift boxes (in wrapping paper), etc. Game changer! It’s likely just my printer but the printable images never turn out so clearly as yours! What printer do you use? Like someone else commented, I find a bone folder to be the best item for folding, scoring, etc. I use just the tops of thumbtacks and brass brads for can and jar lids. I use cut up pencils, the metal “outside” of pencil erasers as cut up clear plastic tubing to use for jar and cans. Love all your videos, my friend! ❤❤❤❤ Kathleen

Thanks Kathleen🤗 I'm really hoping to get better at paper minis because I love the detail they add, especially in the kitchen. I'll need to procure one of those bone tools! I heard once upon a time that brochure paper is a good choice for printables and had already purchased some. It's carstock-like. I love my printer! It's an Epson Eco tank 2850. It uses ink but has good quality. Also I print in the highest resolution for the printies. I've seen the brads used as lids and they look perfect. I'll need some of those too. Thanks for always helping me my friend! 😍✨

Yes omg! I can’t stand making books or folding little boxes. I think I don’t like repetitive work and it turns me off but when I see your persistence it’s motivating! The pencil can and amazing!

How about a glue stick for the paper? Filling with some type of spice seed? Using nail art or jewelry findings as can tops ?Your shelf is so cute!

Thanks Susan🤗 I think glue stick would work for regular printer paper but I used card stock. Regular paper would be better for the soup labels for sure! 😁 I thought about nail art for can tops but I didn't have anything appropriate, I just had butterflies and scroll-y things. Anything small and heavy would work to fill the cans/boxes🥰✨

Oh I would have scored the spines on the inside, have I been doing it wrong? I need to do more printables as well, like you I have shied away demo them as I then to have arguments with tiny pieces of paper. Like all these pie tables, I might have to invest in some. I’ve tended to try and find free ones, which aren’t always the best. The ferns look so much better and I love the bookcase. Absolutely love your kitchen. It looks so much more spacious to the scale I’m used to working with so full of possibilities. 😊

Hi Lorraine🤗 I think scoring on the inside is probably the best way, for me, I need a guide so I have to score the outside first or I'm going to do it wrong 🤣 I feel exactly the same way as you about the struggle of it all but I decided it would be good for me- like kale🤣 (Actually, I still don't eat kale). I usually spend so much time and energy and paper looking for free printables that end up being lousy. This time I decided it was ok to spend $2-3 for a good file I can reuse. So worth it in my opinion. I'm much happier with my new and improved ferns 🥰✨

I love cutting things out. Slowing down and being a bit more persice is calming and soothing for me. You need good scissors. Fiskers are the best in my opinion. I have made a lot of printable. Tiny houses and furniture. Also I found a pair of folding scissors very helpful for straight folds. I just found your channel and I will check out more of your video

I love the printies and the ferns. Everything is looking so lovely. I didnt know the scrabble pieces were so easy to cut...good for you..And you have such a nice tan🥰 I don't get out of the house much, but today I did and We went jet skiing with our grandson. But early this morning while I was taking my son to work, I saw this futuristic car that looked like an apocalyptic machine. It was the Tesla cybertruck. I said omg wth is that?!? My son was like, "Oh yea a Cyber truck you haven't seen one?" I said "oh I gotta show Mimi this!" he said she's seen one, I said oh I gotta show Bubbie this (my grandson) he said oh he knows too. Everytime he sees one he says "look a cyber truck" I said is there anyone that hasn't seen one?!?.lol ..one day I'm gonna go out side and see a flying car and ask what year is it.😂🤣😂🤣 then I'm quitting the youtube because I spend too much time doing this work..🤭❤

Hi Vicki🤗 Yes, I have heard of bone folders. I have a plastic thing that's similar, I'll try that for my next paper build. I'm going to try some children's game boxes. They are sooo tiny😩. I'm committed though! 😘🥰✨

I always cut the eraser end off pencils I use in my art classes. The erasers are terrible and the pencils hardly ever “walk” away. I saved all of them for this purpose!!

Hi Pam🤗 Great way to keep your pencils from getting swiped! My husband is a teacher so he can have these with those attachable erasers as a replacement. Those metal ends really seem to be made for miniaturists. 🥰✨

Hi Susan🤗 Yes! gold on the books would definitely take them to the next level. Thank you! I'm much happier with my reworked ferns! Spraying the paper one with gloss sealer really helped. 🥰✨
