Mold and other stuff seldom seems to happen to vintage inks. A lot more preservative than many today. If kept from much sunlight and sealed well, you can keep ink virtually indefinitely. I have multiple bottles from the 1930s to the 1980s (plus more modern inks.) Not as much as John Bosworth from Fountain Pen Love. Yet. 😂

That's right, I've heard you can drink the modern stuff, it's easy on the stomach actually.

@@onepenshow Ironically the phenol that was used but was pulled because it's "toxic" is still in certain throat lozenges... Herbin though seems to be equal to Kool-Ade today. And way more likely to grow grot in a bottle because of the stipulations from the French government.
