oud scent is attributed to the resin produced by the tree a byproduct of the tree warding off infection ( either bacterial or fungal) i.e the antibiotic resin is in fact what gives agarwood its smell. None infected tree has no scent in the at all.

Its not called as pure oud , because pure oud is the one which is produced naturally by the agarwood tree as a resin to counter the fungul infection in the tree . Second thing is that it is not distilled on wood fire so that earthy ,smoky smell will never come out of this oud untill this oil is aged more than 2 years

This extraction must have a super low yield. I know for steam distillation of plant matter like lemons you're getting 4-6% yield at best assuming no contamination. A liquid CO2 system could probably get far more oil out of that wood.
