I own this car and I've read the owners manual twice, when holding down the brake and gas, your actually closing off the intake and disengaging the DCT so it results in SLOW take off times. There is no launch control on these so best bet is to just floor it after letting off the brake. You'll see yourself in the 6 second range after that.

My thoughts exactly hitting the gas and brake on a dct is just wearing the clutches out prematurely and is slowing him down

Thanks for this, I confirmed this when I did a dragy run in which i “launched”it and got 7.2 sec… When you just “floor” it , it ranges in the 6.27-6.66 sec. Never again did I launched the car, felt weird and like it was messing it up lol

I own a 2023 Forte GT manual transmission and it took less than 7 seconds to reach 60 mph. Even when tires spun a little in first and second gear.

@@BoostedGT2 I have a hard time buying that your 0-60 dropped about a second and a half with those two mods. You would have added close to a hundred horsepower to do that. Do you have video proof?

@@dohcsvt The race chip gts 7stage adds a wild 70 WHEEL horse to this car! That brings this car from around 160 wheel horse to 230 on the dyno… if you don’t believe me look it up for yourself on panda motor works. They have a video on it. The afe stage 3 takeda also adds horsepower. My tuner ALSO increased my wheel torque 120 ft lbs which is insane. 1.5 second drop is not that much… my car pulls like a train

Why did you try to bring the car on boost by holding the brake while revving the engine? It's a DCT trans ,all you did was burn up the clutches.

My guess is he has stock tires and he’s using 87 octane you do that and your performance is not as good. But 93 octane with grippy tires and you’ll get 6.5 seconds. I know this car wheel hops a lot so if you get tires like Michelin pilot sport 4s or continental dsw tires all season or summer performance then you could get even better times.

The 2.0L NA is in the 7.85-8.35 sec range. The 1.6t is in the 6.34-6.75 range.

His driver mod is bad, no launch control in these so he lost alot of time doing that brake hold for nothing

Not in these forte GTs, I've actually done even MORE research and found out that while holding the brake the computer will keep the throttle gate closed, just enough to keep the engine running for idle. The computer has a built in safety and will not open the gates while holding the brake. Spoke to a kia tech about that
