Someone other than myself has also pointed out that Radahn’s life seems to be based around stalemate. Not only with Malenia but with his allegiance, being born into both the Golden Order and the Carian Royals. He could have known that Ranni’s plan would’ve resulted in the destruction of either side, so he instead chose to lock them in stalemate by restraining the stars and ensuring both their survival

Funny thing about this is that there is a theory he was actually helping her. Stalling the movement of the stars so she could off herself, but he wasn't able to release his hold on them after Malenia infected him. It adds so much character to Radahn I think because he's already such a stand up guy, just cooler to think of him as a cool brother as well.

Keeps within from softs obscure "figure it out yourself" design, and I think would be a really fun way to engage with the game, and write your ideas of what might be your next step/important things characters have said to you. Plus I think that could be really to run review everything you thought would happen at the end of your journey vs what actually happened.

The main theory is Radahn knew of Astel and sealed the stars to prevent any morr Astel type aliens falling down. Another is that there is a outer god among the stars and Radahn was preventing the gods influence from affecting the people on their planet. The final one iv seen is that he did it to prevent Ranni from completing her objective after she stole the death rune. IIRC Radahn is aligned with the erd tree so he saw what Ranni was doing as an act of war and went all out to prevent it.

Apparently, Radahn was aware of the dangerous creatures that lurks in the cosmos, as all gods that have influence in the Lands Between (Astel, the Falling Star Beasts, the God-Devouring Serpent, the God of Rot - Whom reincarnate in Malenia herself -, the Formless Mother and the Greater Will itself. So, his purpose was to avoid any other Outer Gods to fall in Lands Between and cause more disorder and madness

Fun Fact: despite how grim and dark the English translation makes it seem, Rabbi’s ending is definitely the best as guidance under the chill night of the Dark Moon frees the world of the suffering that came before. As someone from the north of England, the whole debate on how her name is pronounced is down to accent. Queen marika finds big strong man(big daddy lou) to help bring the kingdom down to start one order. She then "banishes" her husband and his people(you belong to these people) to then marry her male copy that WAS married too the carien queen and master of the carien academy (They had Renna and ranni). Queen then has more children with her male counterpart that she made. Queen did all this to set up back up plans,since she was basically the only one that questioned trusting all her power and the kingdoms power on space dick dragons(Elder beast). Ranni...probably along with the one eyed queen to some extent( Melena,the maiden) acquires Power over death from the black blade that queen marika gave her beast of burden(Malakath). The rune of death was separated from the elden ring to keep everyone in queen marikas lineage Immortal basically. Ranni then gives or has stolen from her by the black knife assassin's the partial power of the rune of death that she stole to start the killing off Golden order Followers...(Prince of death). Kingdom in shambles,demise gods fearful of mortality and some manipulation from queen marikas,The elden rune is shattered so that the back up plan(you or someone from your people that have been in constant war and strife) can come put down all the splinter sects that have formed and to destroy the very gods(elden beast) that started this whole shit show to begin with. Queen marika probably wanted only the best for her people,but once she welcomed the first outer god(elden beast) then the rest followed,The Formless mother( blood/Thorne sorcerers) The god of rot(Represented by a scorpion) The Flames of madness(Every merchant DEAD YO!!) God Death and undeath(Necromancy baby). Each of these are their of perversions of life or death...either eradicating everything to their ideal or changing it in such a way that death would be a blessing. Their are other gods,but queen marika saw where this shit was going before she opened the door..most likely threated by another force/kingdom(Fire giants,Carien Kingdown) and had no other alternatives. The ultimate the enemy of my enemy is my friend and Imma split via Meiosis and fuck whatever comes out baby.

The closest I found is the game mentioning the assassins are “close” to marika because they’re numen like she is. Also, the blasphemous claw, black knife fingerprint, and Rogiers quest line all confirm ranni had a hand in the assassination. If not directly then as a very active conspirator.

imo the only thing hard confirmed about her involvement is the stealing of the rune of death and the enchantment of the rune on the black knives. Ofc she needed another demigod to die with her but we got no info whether she specifically aimed for Godwyn. With the walking mausoleums, Marika had multiple lesser offsprings which would have been much easier targets than him. The only benefits of killing Godwyn would be to ruin the Golden Lineage and cause power struggle for the position of the next Elden Lord. Does Ranni benefit from that? Could be, but so does Marika who is one of the popular suspect in many theories. Personally I think the details about this part are still very vague and I hope the expansion gives us more facts about the event or at least a clearer timeline that would help with theory-making.

Carian family is not the only of those whose destiny were affected by. Sellen was one of those. When you talked to Iji about Jerren after you had defeated Radahn, he said " With the stars of fate set into motion, a certain sorceress is dispossesses of her immortality". As Jerren was on the hunt of Sellen after the festival, the "certain sorceress" Iji refer in his quote was Sellen. Radahn stopped the stars, so those under their influence became immortal. Turns out Ranni's destiny had nothing to do with Radahn locking up the star movement. I literally kill Radahn, get Ranni's questline to the very end, but I don't chose her ending. So turns out, even though Radahn is dead, she still didn't become God and she can watch me on the throne doing something else 😂.n
