Even though you haven't got to Exodus yet, interested if plagues in Egypt could have happened at same time as Santorini eruption that ended Minoan civilisation. Might be pushing it back a bit further in time, but the parting of sea that allowed the Israelites to cross might have been a later tsunami from collapsing lava at Santorini. (Before tsunami water recedes even though it would depend on where crossing took place, maybe Nile Delta. Pharaoh Ahmose I I think is meant to have been pharaoh at time of eruption).
