Hello Anna and congrats for your channel, i would like to ask regarding shipping and marine sector, i live in Greece and working as superintendent engineer in shipping company, is there any chance to find a job with the same amount in comparison to Norwegians in that sector?
@lpdude2005

I am Norwegian and like Greece, Norway is the 4th largest shipping nation in the world + all the oil and gas installations, we manage perhaps 50-60% of all ships in the world - also worldwide rescue operations. The reason for that is, of course, that we have always had one of the world's best infrastructures and satellite expertise. It would surprise me very much if you did not get a job in Norway within 14 days.

@@lpdude2005 Thats what i knew but searching online, I couldnt find many job opportunities. Is there any specific site apart from LinkedIn for job opportunities?Norwegian is mandatory to pursue a career ashore, or English, as the official language in shipping, will be "ok to get a job?I am asking because i need to move within the next 6 months and i don't have time to get B2 in Norwegian.Thank for your time and response

@@KonDim Look up and call one of these companies looking for employees. There are 159 on this page, but the number of jobs is enough x 3-5. Most jobs in Norway go via personal attendance or contact networks. English is probably more than good enough both in shipping and in the oil and gas sector. Many Norwegian companies have English as their corporate language. Most people in Norway speak good or very good English - even children

Statistics are not really correct. I moved to Oslo and foreign workers get way less then 47000NOK monthly, it also depends how long have you worked on that certain postion/company. Salary negotiations are usually every year. If you work there like 5+ years, then you maybe can get 47000NOK monthly. It really depends what job of course you do, Im talking about middle class jobs. For example police officer typically earns around 30K NOK(net) per month, construction worker, supermarket worker about same.

First of all it depends how you negotiate your employment contract. If it’s not enough - move to another company, upgrade your skills, start your side hustle . There are plenty of options available out there 😉🤗

I work in a company in Norway with 37 nations and 5,600 employees. We have the same salary for all new employees and the same salary increase after 6, 12 and 60 months + annual adjustment of course. The average salary in manufacturing is about 47-49000 as a beginner in the construction industry. A police employee has NOK 59,000 per month + seniority

Salary gaps are common all over the world so no surprise. These salaries are very high compare to rest of the Europe BUT maybe it is not as green as it looks like. It would be interesting to know if you want to have a car, flat, insurance, pets, kids, school, bills, once a year holiday, some money for fun(cinema, eating out, drinking, festivals), doctors, food etc so basically middle class expenses how much would you be able to save per month if you earn the Norwegian average salary of $4.5k maybe you would be even struggling. So these numbers do not tell full story. Maybe make a video about it.

At least visiting other countries, example France, (holiday) would be insanely cheap compared to an average Dutchman going to France

Thank you so much for watching 🤗 Well.. I can make a generic video for sure, but it is very individual and strictly depends on current circumstances of each person Example: some of my clients are targeting to land a normal job in Norway away from Oslo, so their budget is $5k per month Some other clients are moving their businesses to Norway and their monthly allowance starts with $15k per month That’s why I prefer working with people individually to match all their unique expectations and personal requirements

In the San Francisco Bay in US, 180k per year is very common. Norwegians dont make much actually

It might seem like . However, In the San Francisco Bay do you have free education, free healthcare, 12 months maternity leave, 100% maternity leave cover, cars subsidised by the government… ahh not to mention that you cannot be homeless in Norway, the government will provide you with everything. shall I continue 😉 Don’t get me wrong, I love California! I spend quite a few months each year in LA - but I really find it hard to be employed in California in particular 🙂 running your business - super cool! Being employed.. do you have life ? 🙄
