I think something you aren't taking into consideration with Nicolas Cage is that the movie he was supposed to star in was a top secret project he didn't tell anyone about. Even die-hard fans of a celebrity take a good bit of time before they realize that their idol is playing a major role in any movie. So basically: the only ones who might know would be his close family and I don't even think he was allowed to disclose on the role he took to them. No one should really know what happened beyond "he took some role in some movie and then disappeared"

Also, the movie in question was really more of a front to summon the entity, like yeah, Nicolas Cage is a celebrity, but the movie was created with the purpose of taking him. So it would eventually result in detection sure, but Nick Cages disappearance most likely would be pinned on Pauline(?) Stamper and the rest of the people working on the project, and not the entity. So I wouldn’t say it was that risky overall.

I would argue that Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan are a little more on the risky side as the Hawkins kids and Joyce Byers are all seasoned paranormal investigators at this point. The only problem they'd really have is that they might be looking at the Upside Down and the Mind Flayer instead of the Entity.

As I am thinking about it, would it really be easy for the entity to not get revealed after taking Steve and Nancy? I mean, when Will Byers and Barb disappeared, Eleven could find them using her powers, alive or dead. She could find out that Steve and Nancy were not in the Upside down and the normal world either by locating them in the Entity's realm or not locate them at all, which would also raise suspicion between the other characters. So that could be kinda risky with Eleven around.

I do sometimes wonder this same thing, about how the Entity can take these people without causing any outer disturbance, but when the wiki said the spidery form of the Entity may be inspired by the form taken by the creature from IT i got thinking. IT can be visible as a large female spider (like how the Entity is often referred to in lore and by Devs with female pronouns, and takes the form of spidery claws in the trials) but has a true form of swirling destructive orange lights "deadlights" (which may explain the orange goo on maps, and makes the name Dead by Daylight kinda a play on words of "Deadlights"). IT is described as a multiversal entity, feeding on fears, much like how The Entity is a multiversal Goddess who feeds on emotions like hope and despair. It's fully possible that if The Entity is based on the writings of Stephen King, that while IT is a basis of The Entity's appearance and nature, the scale of it may be something similar to a Langolier, a creature that devours time at the end of a universe. The Langoliers' consume dying universes, and destroy remnants of the past, including those who are displaced in time. The Entity may be the same, they may be an unseen force that is cleaning up the multiverse of dying realities, and those who do not belong in their time. Maybe as a universe comes to an end, the Entity chooses new players to add to it's games, feeding it the hope and despair that they need to survive. After all, those who escape can find themselves in the void, as if there is nothing outside the Entity anymore, that theres no home left for them to return to. I think that adds a lot of interesting weight to DBD. The idea that in one way, the Entity is dooming people to it's sadistic games, forcing them into awful pain and death for eternity, as their soul slowly fades, but in another way, it's saving them from a permanent death, giving them new chances at something else, finding new people, making new friends, experiencing triumph and defeat. The Entity feasts on all emotions, not just despair, but hope and love as well. In the Entity's realm, both the Nurse and Wraith were given new chances at life and love after experiencing nothing but tragedy, and their cosmetics show that they found love in eachother in the Realm. The Artist is given new hands and a new voice to create again. The Demogorgon is freed from the Mindflayer. Victor and Charlotte are reunited. Survivors like Tapp and Bill are saved from death.

That's really cool actually. I haven't read any of stephen kings works so I wouldn't make that connection, but I figured the Entity was portrayed as a spider because she is manipulative and cunning, bringing more killers and survivors into her web of games and trials. Also irrelevant but I noticed (at least earlier in the game I'm rewatching the fgn crew dead by daylight) that at the end of each round, it said "Collect your rewards from the Entity" or something like that. Which was really funny cause I had a thing going in my head, where after each trial, the survivors and killers collected whatever points they accumulated in that trial/game from the Entity.

I love this theory, also a thing to note about the Void, is that the characters don’t typically escape into it. The Entity sends them there when she’s done with them, when she’s consumed everything she can from them. So in that respect, with them being sent to the Void after she’s done with them. It makes even more sense because as you said, the Langoliers consume remnants of the past. Which is what the characters she takes would be at that point.

I never even realized that Laurie had seemingly vanished without any record of her disappearance or her joining the realm. My guess is simply she was in the midst of being chased by Meyers and ended up stumbling into the fog without even noticing it. Seeing Laurie disappear, Michael simply followed to finish the job.... This is an interesting video because it changes the way I interpret the way being taken by the entity works. Like in Leon's lore it says he was taken during the events of RE2 when he went underground into the Umbrella facility. Well we know after that he fought Birkin, escaped Racoon City with Claire and Sherry, then went on to the events of RE4 soon after. So in my mind time just stopped in that respective timeline until they return. Like whenever the entity is defeated or whatever happens at the end of DbDs story all these characters just return right back to the moment they were taken with no memory of what went on. Almost like a feeling of Deja vu and that's it. That's the way I've always looked at it at least.

I think everyone forgets just how much darkness there is within Elodie. She was only 14 when she lost her parents, and then spent the next 19 years surrounding herself in nothing but gritty occultism and the evils of humanity. No friends, no family, and not yet at the campfire. Going from one dangerous place to another for the Collector. She was always on the run, so she probably developed a codependency on alcohol similar to Felix, or one night stands with strangers. Also, Appraisal shows that she has a keen eye for valuables, and Deception shows her excellent evasion. I think it's safe to say that she's a proficient pickpocket, and possibly stole just for the thrill of it. She allowed her heart to grow cold to make being alone easier and that's so horrible. That's why it's a blessing that she's at the campfire now. She can find a home again. She's still distrustful, of course, but now she has others like Yoichi or Claudette to put their hands on her shoulder and encourage her to come back for endgame saves in the trials or just to talk to afterwards. They make Elodie want to trust and love again, and that's what the Entity should fear her for. A soul that went from being close to the Void, to being a threat. It really annoys me that BHVR fails to give her badass outfits given how rich and dramatic her lore is. A complete waste honestly. 😟

This is very much reaching. First of all after her parent's disappearance Élodie was raised by her grandparents, so she most definitely had family, even after the incident, secondly most of Élodie's travels around the world and the expenses along the way have been sponsored by the collector in exchange for information and artifacts, so no pickpocketing necessary (her fashion should be further proof of the matter, seeing as the majority of her cosmetics are expensive designer pieces from all over the world fit for exclusive high society settings). Third Élodie doesn't have time for drinking or one night stands as she's always on the go around the globe with tasks to finish and clues to follow. Lastly Élodie has always had a deep affinity for and been super interested in history. Traveling around the globe, finding long forgotten artifacts and treasure, getting to see lots of different culture's properties, temples and ruins and learning about lore behind it all is literally her passion and right up her alley.

to my knowledge it can nerf anyone that come's into it's realm, but other than spiriting people away it has no influence on other world's and can't defend itself from cross dimensional attack's from other world's. that's why it want's to stay low the second people catch on they'll start to find way's to prevent it from taking them, or even finding way's to smuggle thing's in or out of the entity's realm unnoticed, maybe even finding a way to use the supernatural magic to get to other world's, do you know how much that would compromise it's survival.

There are several other people in the realm, like the Fairfields, and i dont think the entity doesnt know about them. Does the entity ignores them? Does it not want them in the trials? Knight has Nowhere to Hide, which is an exceptionally good perk for gen defense builds, plus Hubris works well paired with Spirit Fury and Enduring (given you have Spirit), but that would be very niche. Knight isn't bad persay, but does take a good bit of getting used to and learning. Legion has Discordance which is a nice tracking tool, especially for the Legion themselves and Iron Maiden which works really well for Killers like Huntress and Trickster if you're interested in that. Plus Mad Grit which works in niche carrying builds with Agitation and Iron Grasp. Legion has a gameplay flow that is pretty easy to follow. Overall I'd advise you to get Legion first unless you are really into generator defense with Knight and Nowhere to Hide or want to experiment with Hex: Face the Darkness or Hubris.

I think alot of the characters were taken right before they died so they were vulnerable or they were fighting against the antagonist so its not like they were expecting what was coming beneath them. The characters I think were risky was Dredge, Pyramid head, and Cenobite since they don't really play by the Entity's rules. They have alot of free will

Dredge is a cloud of a dark fog composed of pure evil and malthinking, and its style of hunting is not that different from what Entity wants out of the trial. So I imagine that keeping it happy is not too hard. Especially if it gets a free pass to straight up assimilate survivors into itself from time to time instead of only being allowed to kill like most other killers. Cenobite is pretty much an anomaly, as it serves a different being that is pretty much just as powerful as the Entity (Leviathan). So them being in the trial still somewhat serves Entity´s purposes, but probably also costs it more energy with them sending survivors away from the realm. I suppose Entity would be happier if its competition just took back their cenobite cronies who are trying to steal its survivors, so it doesn't have to keep dealing with them.

I was just about to suggest that, as while the killers disappearing off the face of the planet would mean that whatever trail of death they managed would end there, there were varying levels of suspicion surrounding their disappearances. For example, Trapper vanished following a mineshaft collapse. It wouldn't be that big a stretch to guess that Evan was caught in there with the workers. Conversely, Skull Merchant is a CEO hunter, she would not be allowed to run free once someone connected the dots. Probably a fuzzier contrast than the survivors, but there certainly is one.
