@@joshuadavis6342 - You're sugar coating it. He's not a good defender. But you're certainly correct that players can improve even in areas that they're not strong. I remember the growth we saw from Kawhi. I made no comments on his offense. The kid can definitely score and shoot the 3. You're correct that we need both (although I'd also desire a more willing passer, but Dillingham isn't terrible there). But changing the topic to his offense doesn't resolve the issues with his poor defense. It's a negative for his skillset and something he would need to improve on.

Risacher and Topic would be amazing. Risacher and Castle would be amazing Risacher and Buzelis would be amazing Topic and Castle would be amazing (moving Devin to the 3) Buzelis and McCain would be amazing Buzelis and Collier would be amazing Picking Sarr would be tragic with the direction we are trying to go. If we want to pair Wemby with a Big. It has to be a Paint Beast/Defensive Anchor ⚓ type center. We don't need a Floor spacing 5 to pair with Wemby because Wemby can be the floor Spacer. It would sorta be like a KAT and Gobert lineup except Wemby would be Kat playing perimeter/mid range defense, while the 5 would be guarding the Jokics and Embiids (Wemby can be the Help weakside of the paint) That's why I think for us as a unit Donovan Clinghan would fit better than Sarr would. IMO

Sarr likely goes in the top 3 anyways. But I don't think he's a great fit next to Wemby so I'd rather look elsewhere. If Sarr were head and shoulders better than other available players you'd almost have to take him (even if he wasn't a great fit). But I just don't think he's that much better than other guys that will be there at 4.

I love this little guy! Kind of a new Tyrese Maxey. And also I like that he was in Kentucky who trained a lot of great point guards. So I would be happy to see his draft for the spurs. But if I had to choose I would choose Alexandre Sarr for the Spurs to create a monster to quickly dominate the league which will be harder for the other teams to contain. Because point guards like Dillingham will be easier to find for the Spurs, while a Victor / Sarr duo is much rarer to find!

For San Antonio, having it all doesn't mean having it all at once. The absolute best version of Dillingham is a poor man's Kyrie. Just not sure he's gonna be able to get near that level. But maybe he can be a much cheaper and more coachable Trae Young next to Wemby? Lots of folks love that idea. I'm not sure i see it. SA officially has #4 & #8. Trend is to go big at point guard and that's an issue I'm concerned about for Dillingham's defense from the start. He's not a special athlete, passer, or defender and only a promising scorer and ball handler with potentially good shooting range and pull-up game. I'd rather take a chance at a Point forward idea with Cody Williams because of his scoring versatility and length. I think he's a safer and more interesting option, especially defensively. If point forward didn't work out, there's still a place for him. Risacher also is an interesting fit and seems the most likely Spur if he's available. Knecht is probably a reach even at #8 but if you're sold on him defensively he's an interesting fit option with elite shooting upside and size. Would you trade #4 & #8 in this draft to get Sarr? Would ATL? He seems a great fit there with either of their guards, but they'd have to listen to a #4 & #8 offer and probably want one of their picks back as a kicker. Would be interesting to see if SA valued Sarr that highly and how they think he'd fit next to Wemby. People, especially the metrics guys, love Shepherd... Even higher than #4(?)... For me guys with his skill set need to be 6'6 and even they end up frequently end up on an island named BBQ Chicken. I think the Spurs would be happy to let him go elsewhere given the two way ability of current roster. SA has tremendous assets and everything is on the table. I can't say there's 2 picks that high that I'm thrilled with and it's not like SA to make a huge move, just to make it. There's always 2 all stars in every draft, no matter how bad the draft. San Antonio has a chance to find those two.

Spurs are much better off using a first Rd pick and 2 2nd picks plus a young player or 2 for Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso. It would give them a solid, BIG, defensive backcourt with good 3pt shooting and versatility. They should also grab Isiah Hartinstien and Bol Bol in free agency. Again, giving them depth and versatility with defense to help Wemby take the Spurs to being among the NBA s elite. Add more SHOOTERS through the draft and free agency and the Spurs will contend for a playoff sport earlier than expected.

If we want a project at PG, we need to draft Stephon Castle. He’s already a big, Elite defender at the PG position. He has shades of both Donovan Mitchell and Dwayne Wade in his game, and he’s a proven winner. No brainer in my opinion. If we want more of a true PG that’s ready, we need to draft Isiah Collier. He’s 6’4” and is a willing passer. He was ranked higher than Dillingham coming out of high school a year ago being #1 in his class. He also suffered from being on a bad team with bad coaching.
