Drill a couple of slightly larger holes to the bottom of your bin, sit it directly on the ground or even pavement, and worms will definitely find their way into the bin looking to eat your kitchen waste, and they will help to break down your compost very fast. Have you ever noticed how earthworms are always under the bottom of a potted plant when you move it?

whats a worm casting?
@TheAdventuresofDrewandAmanda Жыл бұрын
@@goldenretrievermom7945 it’s basically worm poo. Worm Castings contain a highly active biological mixture of bacteria, enzymes, remnants of plant matter and animal manure, as well as earthworm cocoons (while damp). The castings are rich in water-soluble plant nutrients, and contain more than 50% more humus than what is normally found in topsoil. It’s the best fertilizer you can find and 100% natural.

Hey Sister, when the composting is done efficiently, the temperature inside the bins usually reach 150-175 degrees which is basically the organisms heating up to create the perfect fertilizer so next go around, no holes, rotate once every four weeks and be certain to place your bin in a shaded area outside the residence….👌

Cut three or four holes in the bottom. Make them around three inch holes. Then drill little half inch holes on the sides. Maybe twenty. Put the bin in the dirt in the backyard. Layer in your browns (leaves) and your greens (grass clippings), and then add kitchen scraps. Put the lid on your bin and wet the area around the bin in the yard. The worms and bugs will find their way into the bin from the ground.
