Hi Blake! WDFW website says squids starts to appear in the Port Angeles area in mid June. Wondering if anyone had any success sqidding during June, July and August. If so, any success in the Port Angeles area? How about crabbing in that area? I enjoy watching all your videos! Thanks.

Hey Inhoung! Sorry I didn't see your message earlier! Sometimes the messages on the older videos get buried. I saw you asked again though. Sorry I don't know anything about that, but if I'm in that neck of the woods in June I'll check it out. Even in Seattle/Tacoma some people day-jig for squid in July. I've never tried it. I hear it's very hit or miss. Thanks for commenting; I appreciate you watching my channel thru the years! You've been here since the beginning!

Awesome. I've never caught squid. On my bucket list though! Seen squid eggs while diving but I've also yet to see them in the water too.

Thanks Chris! I do have a video where I actually catch them. WA Fish Quest squid should bring it up. This is Hood Canal tho. The place I mentioned that is known for wolf eel.

Thanks Khan! I figured people would hate this one becaus if the result. I decided to throw it up because of all the dock life.

Fascinating. I didn't know that history that it was closed for that long. Catching squid is one of my favorite things to do here in the Puget sound. Great video man!

Thanks Bob! I'll have to do a follow up where I actually get squid! But I guess it won't be in Hood Canal! : )

Thanks a ton FA Catfishing! The underwater footage was the only reason I was like "okay, I'll post this."

I bet if there was a light on the dock there would be squid. I think they target those little fish.
@WAFishQuest3 жыл бұрын
yeah. if I stayed there again, maybe I'd set the light out for a couple hours then try.
@btm111093 жыл бұрын
The water looked so clear! Is it possible there wasn’t enough light like someone else I think mentioned? I remember growing up, everyone fought for space next to the lamps on the piers 😅
@WAFishQuest3 жыл бұрын
Could be! Maybe next time (if herring aren't all over) I'll just let a light shine for 2-3 hours then try it! Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! High praise considering the squid didn't show! It truly is just the act of getting out.

Awesome videos man! New to the area and just starting to get into salt water fishing. Can you suggest any forums to check out?

hey Martin! thanks a ton. I think there is a lot. I don't personally use any. northwestfishing reports is a pretty popular one I think. (I stopped using it 6 or 7 years ago because the ads were too numerous). I'm pretty sure most subject areas have forums or facebook pages if you google em. good luck!!

Thanks Mom! The actual shellfish quest where Jule and I get squid was in Steilacoom.

You flirted with me and left me hanging! I was wanting to see if there actually were some squid there!
@WAFishQuest4 жыл бұрын
Sorry about that Brian! It's that darn healthy ecosystems fault... teaming with forage fish... the nerve of that place!! : )

@@WAFishQuest my buddy and I want to get up here and explore with you one of these days. Keep searching for squid. We went two years ago near Tacoma and had pretty good luck.
@WAFishQuest4 жыл бұрын
@@brianboatman5564 yes sir tacoma and steilacoom are the two places I frequent. I do steilacoom quite a bit because it's closer but 9 times out of 10 tacoma is better.

Thanks for making the video. I kind of suspect that since squid like to eat herring, you might see quite a bit of squid if they were in the area. Not having a dock light there doesn't help either. Good try nonetheless.
@WAFishQuest3 жыл бұрын
thanks Corbfisher! I will try again sometime! Got to be some around in the Hood!
