Of course, and that same argument can be used for various religions and the existence of an afterlife. The unknown will always open the door for speculation. However, these long predictions aren’t really that unrealistic. We have irrefutable evidence that quite a few of these have happened in the distant past (such as multiple asteroid impacts and ice ages), so that makes them more likely to happen again - especially over the course of millions of years. At this point, we’ve even observed and recorded asteroid impacts on other planets (like on Jupiter) as well.

@StaFu1101Ай бұрын
The problem is we’re against a ticking clock. The end of the world is an absolute reality, how it actually happens is speculation. To focus on the positives of that doesn’t seem viable.
@TitaniumTurbine15 күн бұрын
I understand your argument and you make a good point - and there are also videos for that too though not as many. Exploring doomsday scenarios are wildly popular with audiences, more so than videos with optimism of our future here, so that’s why we see a lot of these videos. People love doom and gloom. The reality is, we have more knowledge of our planet’s potential ending than we do what the future holds for humans and our society here on Earth. For example, people a hundred years ago weren’t predicting there would be cell phones or the internet, let alone combined in small handheld devices with years of information available at our fingertips. It’s hard to predict future inventions and progress. We can make assumptions for what we are currently striving for - like that we will eventually find a cure to cancer, that CRISPR will eventually unlock the answers to solving genetic conditions/ailments, or that we will find past traces of life on another planet (I’m not talking about aliens)… but that’s just not as popular.
