I'm rewatching Will and Grace as an adult - not as the kid who saw episodes occasionally and didn't understand them. Back then, I found Jack's character annoying, and it made me uncomfortable. I wasn't used to seeing flamboyantly femme gay men either on television or in the real world. Middle-school me watched him and thought "God, does he have to be so LOUD?" Back then, all I knew was punishment for stepping out of line or using my voice. Of course, I grew up, and upon rediscovering the show, Jack is my favorite character. He is completely himself, and as earnest as anything. Sure, he has his bitchy moments, but he's never cruel or mean. He's full of life and energy and spirit. I cried watching him realize, mid-audition, that he can't really act. He's a soft, sweet, vulnerable man who is just who he is. And I love him. Thank you, Sean.

Never mean? He insults lesbians, Will , straight people. He took 6months worth of checks from his students then ran off. He stole $200 bucks from a guy he met on line. He is shallow and about money. He is funny but he isn't a good person.

I had a dear friend from church the exact age as Sean, and at 18 he didn't make it, he chose suicide due to the stigma. This pushed me away from the Lord for decades, until I realized it was the CHURCH (institutions) not the church (believers) that did this. God's love is for everyone, there are plenty of sins in the 10 Commandments for every person to break daily to go around! We are commanded to love others as ourselves above all else!!! 🙏❤️🌈🪶💞

As a gay Christian, I agree. It's not God who's a hateful bigot, only some of his followers. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I wish things were different for him and for others.

People need to look around. Everything in this world is different from everything else. No two trees are alike. No two sunsets are alike. No two people are alike (even identical twins have their own characteristics and approaches to life). God made a diverse world. You true believers are the ones who tell me God doesn't make mistakes. Why don't you really believe that?

MisterHot ...my aunt was banned from the family...pentecoastals are strict.. women in the kitchen and men work. No pants for women. Only my dad embraced my aunt. Growing up with her was a norm. Thats why to me... it's no big deal for someone to come out. I can only imagine that coming out in 1959 was so hard for my aunt. I was born in the early 60s. My friend's daughter wants to come out and I told her not to be scared because my aunt came out in 1959 and the world is what it is. My aunt survived so will she. You should have seen her eyes open up when I told her 1959.
@marias7599 Жыл бұрын
@ MisterHot Oh Gosh you’re mistaken. It’s not at all easier for a woman to be accepted. The stigma is super strong. At least is the Hispanic culture. I’m lesbian and I had my big share of pain when I came out and, unfortunately I haven’t stopped going through it. I’m almost 40, I came out at 18 and just yesterday my sister told me that she doesn’t want to see me and my wife showing affection to each other in front of children. She was cool with it for a while, at least apparently, and as soon as she became a grandma she became this ‘holier than thought’ person. In the Hispanic culture they like gay boys because it makes them laugh, they find them funny (not good at all by the way). But they are brutal with lesbians. Even if you’re the most femenine, like me.
