Great job in explaining the VA math and secondary claims! I don’t know why the VA will not explain the math in a veteran’s decision letter. I think the VA wants veterans to be frustrated and give up. My first experience with a secondary claim was in 2012 when I filed for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), secondary to rhinitis and sinusitis. I read Chris Attig's (veteran and VA attorney) lawblog on these conditions. Two doctors refused to write a nexus letter and I provided one a sample nexus letter for my secondary claim.😢 I filed without a nexus letter and the C&P examiner wrote my nexus statement and rationale and I was granted 50%. As you can see, I didn’t give up. God is good, all of the time! 😊

Longtime follower of the podcast. You guys should really do a podcast on whether or not a veteran would continue to receive disability if they had an issue repaired while on active duty. I.E.if a veteran had a limited range of motion due to a shoulder cuff injury, but had that rotator cuff repaired while on active duty would they theoretically lose out on benefits associated with that range of motion?? Additionally, if a veteran/active duty service member currently suffers from what will likely be a 30% disability for sinusitis or rhinitis, but gets sinus surgery or posterior nasal nerve ablation for the rhinitis, are they losing out on potential VA benefits due to having the problem “fixed”?

I really need to make an appointment with your Houston office. My Anxiety and Depression I feel is due to my service connected Tinittis. I am now trying to get my medical records from the Facility I was in 12 years ago and having a hard time with that. I deal with this everyday. Hope to get some help.

Have been diagnosed with sleep apnea thru a VA setup clinic. Problem is what do I link it to as a Secondary. I have degenerative disc dease throughout my back wich is a primary. I have poly neuropathy as secondary along with radiculopahty. I have restless leg syndrome i also have a 30% dysthymic disorder, which I don't want the VA messing with.

I have been receiving life sustaining medications fromU US VA Hospital for over 50 yrs not have the conditions as rated, but now I am in the Philippines the VA Clinic wont provide the much needed medications. Do i need at 76 yr old now put in a claim for the conditions. I am 100% rated PT TDIU. Va says sorry no budget. Isn’t there some way to get my medications as I previously received them for so many years. Can’t find my medication dosage for thyroid have to but two separate dosages to make one. Thanks
