Thank you so much Tina and Ken for this amazing video. As a student who has transitioned from bioinformatics to data science, I related to this video deeply. I loved the fact, how Tina figured out that a computer science degree was a much better way to break into the job market than a data science one. As for me I currently am at the end of an MS in data science and I can understand the shortcomings that I am facing while applying jobs, since I don't have a CS degree. But I am hopeful, to get through with my various projects and rigorous applications. Also I know that a DS job is competitive and I guess the best way to get in, is through a software engineering or a data engineering job. And I would love to hear an advice from you both; whether I should focus on cracking the coding interview or building my portfolio with data engineering tools ? I am in my final semester and am already job hunting. Is it too late to do either of these ? I would really appreciate any feedback. And as always, thanks Ken for such awesome content. P.S. Cheers Tina, you got a new subscriber !

Thank you for this interview. I just started my foray into data science with 0 background experience. I've out of school many years and that's a little intimidating, so it was great to see a female coder who was able to acquire the relevant skills from scratch. I'm inspired.

Since I am going some very though times right now, having such a video is quite inspiring. I wanted to save them for later but, after what I learned in one of your previous video ... the best thing to do is to learn to emulate the best! Not just the technical aspects, but the habits and frame of mind required as well .... it is a pretty long interview, but I'll digest it in several chunk today :) #66Daysofdata

@@KenJee_ds Thanks man!! It's really appreciate ... though to be fair, I realize there's already a lot for me regarding this ;) ... And is it me? Or are there quite a lot of decent and very humane people in the profession? From my personal point of view, there's a recurring pattern here, and seeing this conversation, honest conversation between the two of you is quite inspiring, many thanks to everyone involved in this, you two included of course, it really helps :)

I follow both of your content and I love it! I have a biology undergrad and I have one more year for my masters in music performance. I wanted to transition into data science/ SWE, would you recommend the MCIT program? Are there programs like that which made for non cs majors? Extremely inspiring content👍👍👍👍

I appreciate it Derick! I can't speak for the program as much, but it seems like it worked pretty well for Tina! The program that I did at DePaul was also like that. As it turns out, I am doing a video this week on how I chose my masters degree, and Tina will be doing one next week!
