You’re super transparent in raising awareness of autism, but more than that it’s just the transparency of the ‘averageness’ of your family. You guys just don't sweat the small stuff, you take in life's happy moments and treat the tough moments with patience. My Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer 3 weeks before I had to leave for college hundreds of miles away, and around that time I found your vlogs. I sit down and watch and feel that sense of family that I so need in my life when I'm away at school. I started watching for two reasons: 1. My husband is on the spectrum and I wanted to learn more to understand him better and have the best-functioning relationship possible, and I happened to stumble across your vlog in my travels, 2. I am a peer support worker for people with lived experience of mental health problems, and one of my clients is also neuro-diverse, so again, I wanted to learn as much as I could to best support them. I stay because I genuinely find your day-to-day life so interesting in the way that you navigate Abbie's autism. I love seeing the ways she copes with the world in her own way. I love seeing the way you as parents cope with any behavioural problems or struggles she may have, because you break those behaviours down to the basics in order to correct them, and I find this really inspiring for when I'll become a parent. I find your videos incredibly calming (stimming and all!), and so much more constructive and educational than other things I could watch. I enjoy the interactive element of KZbin in general, and the connection it creates between audiences and creators. ou give me something to invest my time in that is truly enjoyable.

Great question! I stumbled across Fathering Autism 2 yrs ago on KZbin. I was immediately drawn to Abbie's charismatic personality, exceptional abilities, determination (especially when it came to snacks lol) and hey, girls got attitude! 😉 It left me wanting to learn more about Abbie's everyday life with Autism and the famiIy dynamic between you all. I wanted to learn how she communicated with y'all. How you (as parents) incorporated ABA into your home and everyday lives & how Abbie responded to it. How/when would you use positive reinforcemencers. How you handled behaviors at home & in public. What activities did Abbie enjoy doing. Etc. Etc. Etc..... After binge watching all of your past Vlogs while continuing to watch the daily ones you uploaded, I realized that Fathering Autism was so much more than a vlog about everyday life with your autistic daughter. You guys are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G parents and Isaiah is the best big brother Abbie could ever ask for. I would soon come to love your entire family. You say you're the "White bread of KZbin" Well, that's what makes you guys relatable to so many! But you're all so much more than that! Y'all keep me laughing constantly and there's never a dull moment when Abbie's around. When you put all of you in a room together, we're either laughing uncontrollably, crying our eyes out, sitting on the edge of our seat, always learning something, whether it's explaining ABA therapy, planning for the future, how to fix stuff like Magyver, how NOT to skateboard in your 30's, how to move on with your day with a positive attitude after a rough situation, but most of all, you remind us all that family is most important.
