Shout-out to Herman Dooyeweerd, who universalized and 'ontologized' the idea of sphere sovereignty.

Jesus makes it clear to his followers in Scripture that the" world hated me so it will also hate you. Christianity will only be attractive to the elect, when they are drawn to Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.. "Being a friend to the world makes you at enmity against God". Or as Paul would say "do not be conformed to the world" God provides sufficient common grace to make the Christian hating world livable until all His chosen ones are effectually and irresistibly called to their real home.

Would love to know how a modern day Kuyper politician would defend publicly when asked about John 14:6? So what about the the other major religions? How could a major political candidate espouse John 14:6 and at the same time not invalidate the feelings, thoughts, and salvation of the majority of non-Christians who inhabit this earth. Taking this idea of entering heaven or hell upon death even further is Jesus’ warning in Matthew 7:13-14: “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” Or say Matthew 7:22 KJV "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!" And then you have Matthew 19:24 "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Lastly for a 2nd Timothy 3:16 believer how would he or she when in a position of power apply the last scripture in this global interconnected world, who is our neighbor? The starving child in Africa or our proximate American citizen who could use an I Phone upgrade?

@@ARMYSTRONG007 Seventy-three books, but that's by the by. 66 is good enough, 👍.

A Christian politician would live life, both public and private, in submission to the lordship of Christ. That doesn't preclude him from faithfully representing his constituents, regardless of their religious or non-religious views. It's not a politicians responsibility (within his public office) to use that office as a pulpit to preach the gospel to his constituents. He can (and should) do that in his private life but that's another matter. The preaching of the gospel is the domain of the church. He can certainly take a position on policies, like abortion, and it's up to his constituents to decide whether they will elect or reelect him.

I used to be an anti-civilizational, post-left anarchist and luddite for a number of reasons. Coming to Jesus isnt just culture shock but feels like violent political reeducation and indictroniation and this theology makes me believe God is evil because I come from a former political and philsophical perspective that all civilization is inherently destructive and evil. I'm not sure if people understand that there are alot of people like me exist that dont just see this way of living as not normal but actually see it as disgusting on a visceral level. The idea of God's kingdom being seperate from the world made it more tolerable.

Kuyper's view presented in this video, looks to me as largely incoherent and messy.
