How Should I Prepare For Blepharoplasty - Eyelid Surgery? Things to avoid after surgery

Post-op recovery after blepharoplasty. Save this post if you are planning on having eyelid surgery!
What you should do after your eyelid surgery?
• Use an ice pack to reduce swelling. Before your surgery, make sure that you have comfortable ice packs and plenty of gauze on hand for your recovery.
• Keep your head raised for about one week after surgery.
• Sleep on your back for about one after surgery. • • Do not sleep on the sides.
• Ask your doctor when it is okay to drive.
• Wear sunglasses, a hat and SPF to protect your eyelids at all times.
• Get lots of sleep during the first week after surgery.
• Avoid reading or straining your eyes.
• Read or watch television after 2-3 days.
• Avoid physical exertion.
• Avoid activities that raise your blood pressure, including bending, lifting, and rigorous sports like horseback riding, tennis, jogging etc. Avoid moderate activities such as yoga. Keep activities to a minimum. Avoid strenuous activities for 2-3 weeks.
• You can take walks during the first 2-3 weeks after surgery.
• Do not smoke or drink alcohol.
• Do not wear contact lenses for about 2 weeks or until your doctor says it is okay.
• Do not wear eye makeup for 2 weeks.
You can go back to your usual activities 2-3 weeks after surgery. Full healing takes 6-8 weeks however your full recovery will take about 6 months.
