I discovered the dog comb trick a few years ago for stipa tenuissima. If you scrape it through the grass it will take out all the dead growth and seed heads perfectly and as you said, its quite therapeutic. Thankyou for all the gardening tips they are greatfully received. I would appreciate ideas for front of border plants that spill over and also some for height and structure.

Thanks for some great tips on interplanting bulbs with perennials. Another issue I struggle with is trying to recall where existing bulbs (daffodils, alliums, tulips) are already planted, when it’s time to install new perennials. I routinely damage bulbs by accident…🫣
