15 years ago I spent a week in Puerto Plata (Dom Rep). Had dinner in a restaurant NEXT to a cigar shop. After dinner, the cigar salesman walks over and said "Patron (boss), you can't finish such a good meal without smoking a cigar". "but I don't smoke" he said "This is on the house" and gave me my first cigar. That's how I was initiated into the tribe. NO REGRETS!

Churchill was an absolute unit. I have pages of Churchill quotes on the wall next to my bed. I like to wake up, and lie down with words of wisdom. My favorite is, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." Love the channel, man!! I think I'm gonna source some solid cedar and build a humidor, this video inspired me.

My grandfather was a salesman and on the road much of the time. He told me that once he bought a box of cigars (White Owls) that he placed on the seat of his Model T. He said that at the end of the day he reached into the box and it was empty! That was 25 cigars in one day! He eventually quit smoking...cancer on his lip.

Cigar has many positive effects on mental health and mental health affects physical health without question. Also, statistics about tobacco usually lump cigarettes and cigars together which is a colossal error.

Probably the two most memorable cigars I ever smoked were down in the Gulf Coast. I bought them in the French Quarter of NO. Found myself in a outdoor veranda drinking bourbon, smoking a cigar and listening to four old black men playing Orleans blues and jazz. Before leaving I bought another to smoke seating out on a private beach house watching the waves break ashore and watching the sun set over my right shoulder. Perfect.

winston is a hero of mine, i can't get enough about him... i've read many books about the guy, the 'last lion' is a three book set each numbering nearly 1000 pages... highly recommended set of books! the first book covers his childhood and into his young adult life as a war correspondent (it was during this time when he was in cuba) the second book is him as a young man, he became a rather uninspiring politician during this time. book three is WW2 and after, when he rose to become the truly great figure we know him to be. such an interesting life... great video man! (i'll admit, i stated smoking cigars while reading about him...)

I scored 6: Gravitate towards certain brands(mainly Perdomo, Padron or Macanudo), have a habit of "chewing" on my cigar and leaving it in my mouth for a while, ash gets all over me, I have a favorite ashtray(it's just a little stupid ceramic pumpkin dish you'd put candy in, but my OCD ass just can't imagine not having it next to me while I'm smoking a cigar in my favorite chair on my porch), I have spent too much money already (and I just got into cigars a few months ago), and I definitely find it relaxing and enjoy the calming experience of sitting on my porch with a cup of coffee. It's really helped a lot with my general anxiety by forcing me to take a few steps back and reevaluate things, plus the nicotine helps haha). Cheers everyone and wish you all the best.

Wrote a report on Churchill back in 2001 when I was 6th grade. I remember every photo I saw of him had a cigar, so when I made the “art” portion of the report I put a cigar in his mouth ! Would be fun to see you do the story of president Grant, he was a avid smoker of cigars, he was gifted over 10,000 during the civil war and was known to pass Them out to his soldiers. Smoked as much as churchilll but died at 63, Churchill made it to 90!

Tim, Churchill did come from money but he himself was a spendthrift and had financial difficulties his entire adult life. He was overdrawn at the banks, deeply in debt, past due on his taxes, and had received a large cash advance from a publisher for a book that he was extremely past due on delivering. When his parents died instead of using his inheritance to pay off his debt (he would have still had plenty of cash) instead he used the cash for his sybaritic lifestyle. These financial problems threatened to ruin his political career on many occasions. At one point, after he was prime minister, he had to write magazine articles to pay his bills.

So yeah I am getting my first desk job soon and I'll be able to afford more cigars but I'll still probably just smoke 2-3 a month cus for me it's kind of a celebration thing when I smoke a cigar, plus it's alot healthier to just smoke a few in a month and not like everyday, but to each their own. Wherever you are I hope you're enjoying a good cigar out there! The one similarity I have with the man is that I have a favorite brand that I buy and smoke more often cus I just love it.

I have a question to anyone who may know, the Churchill cigar why is is called that? is it because that size cigar was what he smoked? or did they make that cigar specifically for him or what? Ive always wondered about this & this video is a perfect time to try to figure it out. 🤔

I wish I was American to afford these great cigars. I have to smoke the cheapest crap in the UK and it cost me as much as a dozen great smokes in America
