How Skyway Extension project can ease up the traffic

Skyway O&M Corporation (SOMCO) has released a video showing how Phase 1 of the Skyway Extension project will look like once fully completed by its target date of December 2020.
The project, which will extend the Skyway all the way to Susana Heights / Muntinlupa
Cavite Expressway (MCX), involves the construction of a three-lane, elevated northbound section and a two-lane, elevated southbound section that will run on either side of the South Luzon Expresswway and connect to the existing Skyway.
It will increase the Skyway’s capacity by 4,500 vehicles per hour northbound, and 3,000 vehicles per hour southbound, giving motorists from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and beyond, greater ease of travel to, or from, Metro Manila.
The company said that the project, worth over P10 billion, is being undertaken to address perennial and worsening traffic congestion on the SLEX and Alabang.
This is due largely to the continued increase in the number of vehicles using the expressway over the years. If nothing is done, traffic is expected to worsen as current vehicle volume of about 1 million cars increases every year--especially with the continued growth in residential developments and business locators in provinces south of Metro Manila.
Once complete, vehicles coming from south of Metro Manila will be able to take the Skyway and bypass the Alabang viaduct, even EDSA, and go directly to any destination accessible via Skyways 1, 2, and Stage 3, which is also set for full completion by next year. These include NAIA, Pasay, Makati, Quezon City, all the way to Balintawak and the North Luzon Expressway.
In the meantime, SOMCO assured motorists that they will get a reprieve from traffic in the south by November when heavy preliminary works are targeted for completion, just before much of the Christmas rush. By that time, motorists will be able to use the third lane that is currently closed from ongoing construction works.

If Pres.Duterte would not be our president, the skyway project would not be finished at all. We will give praise to him, Because of his strong political will of his government and he puts passion and wisdom of all what he did to make this happened. We really give thanks to our Almighty God that he sent to us in the like of Pres. Duterte! He's been a mayor to our town for 23 years. We've been known him for so long, We knew what was in his heart, back then when I watched his weekly tv program, if he got mad, he'd always mention that ‘put ina’ mo! But we used to hear that from him and I was like laughing because I knew if he did that he mean it. I love you so much Presiden Duterte, I was now living in 🇨🇦 Canada, but my heart still in our country, proud to be a Filipino. Mabuhay❗❗❗

Paki palitan mo na lang po ung skyway extension northbound target complete by april 2021 kc bumagsak ung girder sa e service road since november 2020 eh.
