I use your script, and I love it. When I’m writing, I’m always worried about being able to talk long enough and I always end up talking TOO LONG. Like average is 30-40 min. It’s only in retrospect - when I’m editing - when i can see how it could’ve been broken into multiple videos. But by then, I’ve set it all up for only one … the intro/thumbnail/etc …. I get great watch time, but just saying. I have no idea how to pair it down which is part of the reason why my editing takes so long!

I'm so glad you are enjoying the script! My trick when I'm writing my script is to make sure there is one clear take away from my video. I know we want to give lots of value but we can overwhelm the viewer. So think about the one key takeaway you want them to leave the video with to help tighten up the video

Awesome how you record your videos. I am using a teleprompter cause I allways forget what I wanted to say in the video. But my videos dont seem natural as you pointed out

It all depends. I just don't like the way I feel either when reading a teleprompter

You don't need to over think it. Just find a nice little corner and get started there.

LOL. There aren't enough lights to get rid of MY fine lines!! 🤣Seriously, I rarely show my face because I'm DIY. This is absolutely superb!! I needed a good linear breakdown of activity.! (I still have alot to learn with FCP!)

Filming is the easy part. I'll do 5-6 videos (10-15 minutes after editing) a filming session which I do at least twice a week. Now editing.... I have about 20 I need to edit and I'm taking a week off from my books to edit at least half.

I understand the editing bottle neck. Sometimes is just best to outsource it and it might be less than you expect

@@TrenaLittle Hired someone a couple of months ago for $200 and it was so bad, even after several corrections. I just finally edited the video last week. Plan to start looking again after we get back from US.

My problem is not withholding information, my problem is overexplaining information. I'm a CPA, I completely understand those long videos are tough to sit through
@TrenaLittle5 ай бұрын
I get that. When I'm planning my video I try to think about what's the ONE takeaway the viewer will get from this video that they could do on their own.

Ah! MOTIVATION! When my consistency fails, it’s so hard to get back to it. I feel like I’ve been trying this business thing for so long (my product suite is done but content marketing has never been clear for me or easy to understand and I constantly run into roadblocks.). As I begin to doubt that I even want to continue this venture, I push off finishing the editing for a video i recorded and half-edited 3 weeks ago! If it were not for binging KZbin to know it ‘spossible and get reenergized, I’m not sure i would .. reenergize, that is.

Its absolutely normal to get stuck in a funk. I actually was there back in May so I took most of the month off from creating videos so I could come back refreshed!

How do you take picture by yourself to use for thumbnail?

I have a problem with getting my thumbnail photo and creating the thumbnail while still editing the video which takes me 3-4 hrs for 2 days

So at Christmas, I bought a super cheap 4K camera. I can’t justify your Sony yet because I lose money daily on my business and don’t even have a good laptop to work on. BUT - I did buy your Rode (rhode?) mic and it doesn’t work in the camera! I’ve google all over and can’t figure out why. In fact, the cheap camera even came with an external mic that doesn’t work. I’m filming with my iPhone and a blue yeti. Just sharing for those of you who think you can cut corners on buying equipment. I would’ve sent it back but never even got around to opening it until after the return period had passed.

So glad you shared. Yes, it's very important to make sure when buying equipment you cross reference what it's compatible with. I've also had times where I've bought something and it wasn't compatible with my things... I just didn't take the time to read if it was.

Did you ever do KZbin successfully in another niche that isn't just teaching people how to do KZbin? I find it hard to trust KZbinrs whose entire success is there being so many people wanting to be successful at youtube.

Scripting. If it's scripted, I can't speak with a smile in my voice. And if it's not scripted (even just bullet points), I go off track
