I am 74 years old and I could answer any question asked about the times table and get it correct every time.i clearly remember the maths teacher chanting each table with his class at the beginning each lesson.I have thought many times throughout my life what a very wise man he was to do that

Re the first little boy. The kid's parents should not only be teaching him and reading with him and encouraging him to work at school, but should be working with the teachers so that he can grow up and have options. At the moment, all are failing him. Nobody is in the slightest bit interested in preparing him for adulthood and giving him the means to make a good life for himself. This poor boy is going to end up another statistic. Either stabbing or getting stabbed, joining a gang, dealing drugs, stealing and eventually jail. And all because his parents are irresponsible , not interested in actually *parenting* and disinterested about his future, whether he get's a decent job with good wages, or a career. The poor little sod.
