Sir Mark , i guess setting up this feature will only work as long as there is at least a PV or Battery supplying power to the inverter . Because on my experience i was not able to set this up at Night no PV ... and a broken battery ... because with both DC supply out the inverter is basically dead . So i would say to be able to set the inverter to do that a requirement is that at least one of thr DC power is present .

Yes, If there is NO battery, it will act as a regular GTi, so you need PV source.

I want to test maintaining the inverters control electronics over night via a DC PSU, into the battery terminals, so the monitoring is kept alive. We have a few systems installed, no battery - 'battery ready' - but we lose overnight grid power logging.. which is annoying.

I donot have battery installed with my 6kv solis hybrid inverter, can i run that in load shedding case(without grid) during day time only on PV?

Hello, Mark. There are clarifications on connecting and disabling the Solis inverter. Ginlong gives the following recommendations: PV, BATTERY, AC, LOAD is a connection. OFF LOAD, off AC, off DC, off BATTERY is a shutdown. Your recommendations are different, where is it right? Regards

If your system is energize and running with loads. You need to disconnect your Grid first! You don't disconnect your PV since its under load. You also do not disconnect your backup load since it has a running load. The guide assumes that prior to shutting down the system. You had transfered your backup load to the grid, thus, the proper way of disconnecting is. 1. GRID 2. PV 3. BATTERY.

Mark, hello. Thank you for your feedback on the solis inverter. Equipment (switch) is connected to the inverter, which must be in operation for 24 hours. The inverter at off 220V passes to the battery and the time of this transition according to the characteristics is 1 period or 20 ms. After the transition, the connection between the switch and the equipment connected to it disappears. To date, is it possible to reduce the transition time to the backup port to 10 ms? Thank you!

I also asked if they can drop to 10ms, but as per support, the 20ms is standard on all RHI models. If you have issues on sudden shutdown due to switch from grid to off grid, you need to request a firmware update to rectify the problem.

Question what will happen if the PV is cut off under load ? Aside from the obvious arcing

its not advisable unless under certain condition such as an emergency situation. Its not recommended especially when your have a high demand load and you cut off the PV. Hardware malfunction sometimes happens.

If in a Solis grid-tie set up, still do not disconnect P.V. under load, it should be disconnect first the grid then the P.V...

But arent you still driving the inverters control electronics from the battery DC source ? If the battery is still connected physically.... thats not the same as the battery setting being set to none.... Surely....? The battery is still showing as drawing 10w...
