I know there's already a Sonic Movie and an upcoming sequel coming in 2022, but... what if, starting from probably late 1996 (in commemoration of the franchise's 5th anniversary) to late 2002 or early 2003, Paramount and Sega made a series of Sonic movies? Not only that, they would be traditionally-animated rather than CGI and would be based entirely around the elements of the original games. Just think about it: Sonic the Hedgehog (1996) (based on original Sonic 1 game) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1998) (based on original Sonic 2 game) Sonic vs. Eggman Island (1999) (direct-to-video sequel based on original SEGASonic game) Two-Tailed Origin: A Sonic Story (2000) (direct-to-video prequel that I could've came up with a better title for) Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2001) (based on original Sonic 3 game) Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (2003) (based on original Sonic CD game)

@@almir-chan9570 It's possible but I don't think so. The Emeralds in that game have no other effect then the end screen. I suppose you can speculate where it takes place given details. SEGA is currently working on the proper timeline. My "Sonic With Voice Acting" series is my personal interpretation on the nebulous Sonic-timeline.

@@SonicPAJ The Japanese manuals and the American manuals of Sonic 2 differ. So if that's where you're getting that info from SEGA America scrapped their dumb story of how Sonic met Tails when they started following the Japanese canon (Which is the real way they met)

@@MichaelTheBlimpedFox This is from neither. This is from before either manual. This was the story pitched to SEGA of Japan by Al Nilsen who was a part of SEGA of America. At the time, Japan insisted Sonic's new friend was to be called 'Miles' but SEGA USA wanted the name Tails. So Al Nilsen wrote this story to convince the board of SEGA of Japan to allow a compromise, making both names canon. The story was so touching, one of the Japanese board members actually cried. Since then, Miles would be commonly known as Tails while Miles was still his first name... The Prower last name was added later.

SEGA America and Japan had two different backstories to Sonic 2 (Just like how the box art was different in America and Japan changing Sonic and Tails design) Tails was always eight in the Japanese manual. The American story portrays him as a baby or close to the age of four (Which AOSTH also followed) Yes, they pitched the name "Tails" instead of Miles, kinda like how they did with Eggman (JP) and Robotnik (NA) Even Nintendo is guilty of that with Princess Peach calling her Princess Toadstool in NA. Regardless that story isn't cannon about Tails being called Miles Monotail or no reference to his genius level IQ. Was simply an idea just to get his named changed to Tails which lead Miles "Tails" Prower similar how what happened with Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik but Japan just let them call him Robotnik.
