On some real shit, I have been watching Bart and Joe since I was 10. I'm 24 now, graduated, and working a tech job. I grew up watching the uncos and JustKiddingFilms. It's crazy because I also enjoyed watching TotallySketch videos with Steve in it, and also was a huge fan of Quest Crew after watching them on ABDC. So when this last iteration of JustKiddingNews came to be, it was a miracle to me to see all the people I grew up watching be so close and fuck around with each other. Nick's naturally funny, and I guess I like Anthony too. Love yall boys

I really like Ryan's ideas. Honestly I still love the content right now and it's my daily drive when I commute. But I think you just need variety. You can't just do one type of content. You can keep what you are doing but upload less of this type of content and try other things. I really enjoy the jk adventures. Maybe some spontaneous things where the boys can get together do fun hobbies, laughable banter and have some fun. Anthony teaching the boys how to dance. Bart doing fitness challenges. Haha

I think personally what keeps me around are the constant new stories and perspectives that are brought to light. I think as an 8 year old discovering jkfilms really helped me develop my own sense of humor especially as an asian. Now as an adult seeing how bart and joe evolved is an amazing success story. I remember my parents scolded me for watching jkfilms due to all the cussing but even they not really respect what bart and joe achieved. Now the other main cast share their stories, come ups and even downfalls which also really keeps me around because I learn a lot through listening

I think the news articles are important because they trigger the riffs and jokes or memories or crazy tangents that otherwise wouldn't have happened without the articles bc they do open the door for all the different perspectives from each person. And when the articles are dull, you guys are pretty good at just riding a tangent so it works out. Now talking about major events as they unfold would without a doubt take that format and put it on steroids which would be great if it wasn't for KAN deleting everything

Vlogbrothers. The Green brothers (not to be confused with Steve's "Greene") started way back in 2007 and has often been credited for introducing "vlogging" to KZbin although they deny that tooth and nail. They're quite similar to JK's in that they have multiple channels, however theirs exist to fuel their non-profit charitable endeavors. Both guys make enough living through their books and other activities, I guess.

A few years ago, the click rate of a video from a subscriber was a big factor in the KZbin algorithm. They looked at how many subscribers actually clicked on the videos. If a subscriber did not or barely clicked on videos, they sometimes got no more videos in there youtube feed from that specific channel (or in some cases they got automatically unsubscribed). So if you had a lot of subscribers, but very low clickrate, you got punished a lot. It was better for the algorithm to have less occasionaly watching subscribers and more loyal fans that watched everything. (Subscribers that didn't watch any video, would really punish your channel) I can still remember that some KZbinrs asked to unsubscribe if you occasionally watch videos and then just look for the channel via youtube, because that would be better for the channel algorithm. Fortunately, KZbin has now solved that. But at that time JKN uploaded a lot of videos, which probably made the click rate very low, since not everyone could see all the videos (directly). Even though KZbin has adjusted this very strict algorithm, it is probably still a major factor. A new channel would indeed be a solution to score better in the algorithm. This allows for a faster influx of new viewers. Perhaps in addition, less videos, but longer content, to keep the subscribers clickrate higher. I have no idea what exactly is good for the algorithm at the moment, but I think small channels are now being stimulated more than before, based on my own recommended video lists, with videos sometimes only having a few 100 views. I think consistency of uploading videos, click rate ratio per subscriber and watch time per video, are some of the important factors for the algorithm. KZbin shorts can also be very good for new viewers. For me, JKN isn't really about the news. The articles are good for creating random scenarios, a setup for hypothetical comedic bits. In addition, I like the dynamic of a group of friends, getting to know new people and sometimes learning from smart people while it also remains fun through the comedy.
