How South Africa Became Africa's Most Stable Economy
Upon gaining freedom from the brutal apartheid regime, South Africa, a country located on the southern tip of the African continent was divided and faced one of the greatest racial tensions in the world, in a few years it began to achieve considerable growth in the commercial area and today stands out as one of the most remarkable African success and economic development stories. While it is a long list of reasons why South Africa has been so successful, one of the most important factors was the visionary leadership of its first president Nelson Mandela.
Nelson Mandela, together with Walter Sisulo and Oliver Tambo, joined the African National Congress (CNA), which became the main instrument of political representation for blacks.
Since 1962, the International Community has been imposing sanctions on the country through export restrictions and boycotts of South African products.
