Maybe you've already covered this and its kind of similar to what you showed with the "fake am" trick. but to cover AM sidechain because I think its really great and easy for getting that fluttery noisy high end texture that typically try to do via distortion(which can be messy). KHS ringmod has an internal bandpassed noise modulator that's able to do it in a few clicks(turning the bias all the way up to engage AM instead of RM, selecting the modulator, adjusting frequency for bandpassed noise, adjusting mix for noise level).

What order of your chain you using for this bass post-process? I assume ott is after distortion (not before)?

@@SkillShaperSS Yeh, mainly after distortion, but don’t think in rules! Experiment and break the rules!

@@Letsynthesize Hahah 😂 I'm so curious about how you would approach making softer sounds like keys if that makes sense ^^ For parts in a song where you'd cut out screaming leads if that makes sense? D:

"In signal processing, distortion is the alteration of the original shape (or other characteristic) of a signal. In communications and electronics it means the alteration of the waveform of an information-bearing signal, such as an audio signal representing sound or a video signal representing images, in an electronic device or communication channel." 🤓☝
