great tutorial, thank you. I have 2 questions, 1) the monochrome camera senses 2 dimensional image. As I understand one dimension gives spectral signature of a pixel in the observed line, is that true? I will open the question, for example monochrome camera observes 600x400 pixels of data. In this case, do you have 400 band spectral information of 600 pixels ? 2) After image acquisition, how do you know the wavelength of the bands? In the image of monochrome camera, how do you determine which pixel corresponds to which wavelength?

Ahmet, thank you for your questions. 1) You are correct, the vertical axis is the spectral one, and the horizontal axis is the spatial one. 2) We do wavelength calibration to each of our cameras. We put the camera in front of the integration sphere, illuminated with a spectral lamp, with a very narrow and well-known band. Then, we fit a 3rd order polynomial curve (or 4th order, depending on the camera) to estimate the wavelength band between the spectral peaks. The calibration file comes with every shipment.
