Hmm wrote on Romans and said "belief is our work" and after his debate with Pelagiaus Augustine wrote in his last book called Percivernce of the Saints and says in short that God has to make you believe. God has to change Your will due the fall of man. Calvin And Luther built Majority if not all of thier theology Off of Augustinian writings. You either end up at modalism partialism or 3 God's. Augustine ends up at 3 seperate God's. All souls are the same substance as God as they are his breath a part of him realized. That does not make us the Father. Just images of the Father. The Bible says God is not a human nor is born of a human. It is said in plain words. Numbers 23:19. The Bible cannot contradict so when things seem at odds. It is best to look at that which is straight forward and assume u are misinterpreting the complex. In this case John 1:1. This is basic herminutics. John 1:1 can be understood in many different ways especially with how Jesus explains he is god later in John to the pharisees by quoting the psalms and calling the pharisees gods. John 1:1 says The word was with God and the word was deity. It does not use ho theos. Just theos. It could very well have been in the beginning was the word and the word was with Yahweh and the word was Elohim or the armaic equivalent.

Colossians 1:15-17 “who is the image of the invisible God, FIRSTBORN of every creature, for in him all is created, that is in the heavens and that on the earth, the visible and invisible, weather thrones, or lordships, or sovereignties, or authorities, all is created through him and for him, and he is before all, and all has its cohesion in him.(CLNT) this verse clearly states Christ is a created being the literal firstborn that God used to then create all other things in existence. A comparison is Adam in the garden when he is told to name everything. That is a microcosm of what happened in the very beginning when it was literally just God and Christ, hence firstborn of all creation. Christianity will never tell you this unfortunately but the consequences are huge. That to me is also far more interesting then some illogical trinity that has no basis in scripture. Also it’s should be clear to you that God can’t be created so either Gid is lying or the trinity is doctrine of demons regardless of how interesting a man’s intellect can be.

I am ex athiest. I used to mock christians and say it was all just a fairy tale to help people die in peace. Until i overdosed and stood before Jesus. His face is as bright as the sun. I couldnt see any details of his face but i could see his arms were held out like to hug me and they were a dark tan color, not white or black. Which makes sence remembering he came as a Jew in the middle east desert!! When he held out his arms the light got brighter and i felt so much love and peace and raw power that i cant even find the right words to describe them. Jesus is God in the flesh. God is a trinity. All power the father has Jesus also has. He has existed with the father since before the earths creation. The very last thing i remember was looking down to see a dark pit. Like a black hole it was so dark. I started to fall down into it, the second i felt myself starting to fall i looked back up to see Jesus one last time. All i could see was his hand reaching down waiting for me to grab it. The second i grabbed his hand i woke up back in my room in the spot i just overdosed in except that i was sober when i came back. It is Not possible to hallucinate your way Out of an overdose. Jesus saved me from the Pit and now i am a fisher of men.

The trinity is difficult to understand and explain, but it's essential basic for christianity! The only believers that I generally deny to be honest/real christians are those who deny the trinity. For decades I had no idea how that works until I found a video with a very good comparison: You could compare the trinity like the conditions of water - it's liquid (water) or hard (ice) or gaseous (water vapor). Three complete different conditions - they seem to contradict - but in basic chemistry all the same. Nobody would say for example ice is not of H2O (water). If there wouldn't be a trinity, some parts of the bible would have to be changed to be still correct. The simplest and best example for that is the text for baptism: without trinity "and baptize them in the name of god, the son and the holy spirit" MUST be changed to "and baptize them in the name of god!" -> no baptize in the name of the son and the holy spirit

To all who understand the Trinity, don’t waste your energy on those whose beliefs come from teachings of heretics from the 1500’s. This issue was put to rest in 325 AD by the Church leaders at the Council of Nicaea. As a teenager I went to a “church”…. I would read and study the New Testament before school and before bed…. that “church” taught that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit were one person. I just couldn’t accept that. They also taught that unless you spoke in tongues, you were not saved or you didn’t have the Holy Spirit. I would pray about it and pray about it. Now I am not going to sight and say “God told me” …. however, as I read and studied with a plain KJV bible, I believe my prayers were more effective. It was revealed to me one morning , as I read the baptism of Jesus for about the fifth time, that there are 3 persons….. Jesus, physically in the water, the Holy Spirit descending, and God speaking from Heaven. Case closed. Even though I understood the concept of the Trinity , I kept going…. and I struggled for a while with the speaking in tongues/Holy Spirit/Salvation teachings of this “church” …. and like before I prayed and prayed… and it was revealed to my mind that the thief on the cross was spared and Jesus, God the Son himself saved him. No speaking in tongues, etc., just his belief on this special occasion saved him. Later in life I learned about the Reformation, etc., and was unaware that the United Pentecostal “ Church “ teaches confusion and doctrine that is not found in the one, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, which has existed for over 2,000 years, the Orthodox Christian Church. ☦️

I can appreciate Augustine's classical theological views regarding this subject. It's quite therapeutic. However, it is not grounded in clear scriptural fact, but in human imaginative philosophical conjecture. The primary text used to support the Trinity doctrine is John 1:1-3, even though John 1:1-3 never once explicitly speaks of: a Trinity, an Essence, a Substance, or the Holy Spirit. All of these things are inferred upon the text based on Augustine's personal presuppositions. Yes it does refer to Jesus as God, but not as part of some type of triune being. And the god term used to refer to Jesus is distinct from the God term used to describe the most high father. Same term, but two distinct meanings. It's also interesting to note that in the following chapters of the book of John Jesus isn't referred to as God by john the Baptist or any of his disciples, and neither was he crucified for claiming to be God. Just something for the viewers to consider.

Augustine in his writings, referred to The Trinity as veiled in 2 Kings4….. An only young son of a woman has died and she pleads with Eliseus for help and he first sends his servant Gehazi to lay Eliseus’ staff on the boy but the boy remains dead so Eliseus arrives and descends on the boy matching his eyes, mouth and hands to those of the boy…the boy’s body grows warm then Eliseus descends again but now the boy sits up and coughs 7 times. Secondly the paragraph you quote (badly) is very clear that ALL created things were made through Him (even if you deliberately ignore that it already set out that God (the Father) & the Word were already together before creation). Certainly, because everyone in the world is Christian and the power of the state was always on the side of Christianity. @@Hamann9631 He proves in the first half that Jesus is distinct from the Father, and in the second half proves that the Holy Spirit is distinct from both the Father and the Son - while also proving that there is one God. Three distinct persons and one God results in a trinitarian God. All of this can be found in the New Testament, as shown by St Augustine - as shown in this video. If you are looking for proof of the Trinity, but find this video not clear enough, I can try and help. Let me know and I will see what I can do

@@Hamann9631 It's 'three persons but one God', not 'three persons and one person'. I am not sure what relevance of the new points you have raised... It doesn't affect the truth of the Trinity. God is not limited by material constraints, as He is pure spirit in nature. God the Son (Jesus) did take on human flesh of course, though he did so as creator of flesh, and just as he changed the way water behaves in multiple occasions (walking on water, changing water into wine), so too can he change the functions and limits of flesh (i.e. walking through the wall on the first Easter Sunday to present Himself to the apostles). God doesn't have parts in any sort of mechanical manner, as theologians say He is purely simple - whereas we are complex with different parts. As to passions, just because He made us in His image, that does not therefore mean the Creator is to be exactly like his creatures. It is fitting for creatures to have passions, so as to sustain themselves (food) and their race (procreation). I'm no theologian, I would suggest reading the Church Fathers rather than take my amateur understandings. St Augustine would probably be up your alley based on your questions. God Bless.

Who is the only Holy and Good? God. The *Holy* Spirit works with us for sanctification. Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is the only unpardonable sin. Jesus, the Son, claimed to be God, accepted worship, performed miracles, and was confirmed as God by the Father in Hebrews 1:8 The only way to receive the Holy Spirit is to acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, and his sacrifice on the cross. I think we all know and agree that the Father is God as every Abrahamic faith seems to accept. Not three different Gods, one God in three persons performing different tasks and interacting in different ways with creation.

He is a 'Spirit' and the dove was used to symbolize His 'Spirit'. So, "God" is a Duality, not a Trinity.
