Before you call me crazy, hear me out. I believe that the author is either in love with, or obsessed with his own creation: Yujiro. Think about it. Yujiro is basically a god amongst ants in this universe, but it always wasn't so. Over time, he has been getting more and more absurd. Yujiro now considers men to be women because his testosterone is just that much higher than everyone else's. It is ridiculous.

I’ve thought Doppo to be absolutely adorable since the Original Baki OVA of the 90s. He’s been my favorite character since and I’m always happy when it’s his turn to fight.

Younger Doppo put more faith in his physical abilities compared to current Doppo who relies on his experience and technique more. I think his loss vs Shibukawa due to 2 years of experience opened his eye(s) to the idea that technique is more important then he used to think. Current Doppo might not be physically stronger then Prime Doppo but if they where to fight current Doppo would whipe the floor with his Prime self.

I disagree with some points . First the age thing. Wolfgang translations suck but it’s been years since then and it’s clear that he was aging and that it affects his prime .Yeah shibuwaka’s experience won him the match but his fighting style differs significantly. For certain fighters like shibuwaka and kaiou Kaku the loss of strength from age doesn’t matter at all while for someone using karate like Doppo aging is a loss. The yujiro Doppo fought was far weaker than the one we have now . The loss of an eye isn’t much of a cost for a fighter of doppo’s level but it is one against a similarly skilled opponent and something he has to compensate for . And experience does matter too. But Katsumi at the time was brash and one important point is they’re using the same fighting style. Sure she does affect to a degree but experience when using the same style is far more important in that context. And Doppo did increase his experience and techniques. So Doppo in his prime has better physical speed and reaction as well as one eye but Doppo has gained more techniques and skill . And if they fought the older Doppo with his complete form might win since it’s the same style but against other opponents Doppo with both eyes and at his peak physically would have an advantage. But in reality the timeline in Baki doesn’t make any sense. Also if that’s true then why does anyone use any of the feats for Baki fighting yujiro . Bakis sumo opponent countered his cockroach dash and threw Baki right after. Does that mean he’s above Yujiro no of course not. Also yujio didn’t even try to stop or counter it. Also his pre cognitive doesn’t seem to be at a super high level like Kuroki’s was.

I think the biggest problem with power scaling with this series and even ones like kengan are that and keep in mind this is just from my martial arts experience. Is that there really is no true prime there are points were biologically speaking you may have more stamina or physical strength but in terms of actual martial ability much like the kegan character hatsumi sen it really more so depends on intensity of one's environment. For instance people always talk about how mike tyson in his younger years was an absolute monster forgetting the fact that at this point in time the environment and opponent caliber he faced at that age was at a more intensive and rapid level. And I think the same could be said for most fighters if your just drilling with lack luster folks that aren't constantly stimulating you mentally and physically with large gaps of time in-between true challenges it only makes sense that even a pro can fall to a newbie

To be honest I wouldn’t say Doppo right now is any stronger than the version that fought Yujiro. He’s a better fighter, but his body is as he said slower, weaker etc. Katsumi low diffed him, Musashi low diffed him, Ali Jr kinda low-mid diffed him (second fight was when he had already been packed). He’s done a few training arcs since his introduction but in my opinion he’s never reached the same level as he used to be e.g. pulverising that concrete pipe and not losing instantly to Basejuro

I think you misunderstand some points. Finishing personal style doesn't mean being at the strongest level afterwards, I think "Prime" Doppo was the strongest because he had a good balance between experience and strength. Karate is not like Aikido, you use your own strength when you move, so no matter how much you learn, you will weaken over time.

Ok a few things: 1: you really overestimate the “getting stronger over time” Baki clowned on Pickle due to his techniques. Not anything about training. Baki hasn’t shown any strength feats that put him above Oliva’s raw power after their fight. And this is shown when Baki tried to fight pickle with just brute force and got rofl stomped Yujiro hasn’t shown a dramatic increase in power either. Again, no evidence other than a vague statement. He could’ve gotten .003% stronger while every gets .00000000000001% percent stronger Musashi also didn’t destroy pickle. Pickle was being relatively not effected by Musahsi’s sword strikes cause of his musculature. He ran away cause he got scared but if pickle just rushed Musashi after he knocked him out in the first part of the fight, he would’ve won. My main critique of you is that you need to incorporate more critical thinking into your scaling. As it seems you’re taking everything at face value

First, the father son fight: Yujiro demonstrated multiple times that he was not taking that fight seriously. He literally flexed his way out of most of Baki’s attempts. He literally left Baki broken on the floor while Yujiro took superficial damage only. So, yes, Yujiro had the power to knock out Baki in one hit if he really wanted to kill Baki. This is cause if Yujiro wanted to kill Baki, he would’ve killed him once he was immobile. There’s absolutely not evidence of Baki or Yujiro becoming stronger than Pickle’s raw power. Again, show me feats and I’ll agree. But Yujiro has only fought Musashi, but that doesn’t mean he has more raw power. Neither does this mean Baki has more raw power cause once again, Baki didn’t beat him in a battle of brute force or shown any strength feats that scale to Pickle’s. Feats and critical thinking >>>>>>> relying on vague character statements at face value Yujiro has obviously shown more growth from the maximum tournament to now but he hasn’t shown really any growth from the prisoner arc to now. There’s quite literally no feats that support this. And vague character statements don’t mean anything.
