She’s not all bad. She saves Leon so many times even if it gets in the way of her mission or she’s ordered not to. Especially in original re 4 she saved him 4 times. Once against the village chief if you go back in his room. Next against Krauser who almost stabs him in the heart. Then against saddler when he finally gets Ashley back for the last time she distracts him so they can get away. Then in the final showdown with saddler she throws Leon the rocket launcher that kills Sadler once and for all. You could arguably say that the rocket launcher one was cuz she needed Sadler dead but judging by her saving him several times when she didn’t need to it wasn’t cuz of that.

I'm still convinced though he has a secret room in that house of his in 8 because there's a huge gap between the study wall and the hallway leading to the bedroom. One other weakness Leon has is that he's a bit gullible. Ada has successfully used Leon 3 different times and he was none the wiser. Literally all Ada needed to do was kiss this man and he's already on board. He literally fought Chris to protect Ada (which wasn't even Ada). Honestly despite his skill and endurance, the only reason he isnt dead is his dumb luck and concidental circumstances.

I'll defend the second and third times. Leon outright was suspicious of Ada in the RE4 remake, where they toned the simp down massively on this dude. There's a cutscene where Ada is giving him a ride to the Island Fortress the Illuminados had and he out and out accuses her of using him again. And if he doesn't get a good look at her or she doesn't stick around to talk, how is he supposed to even ask if she's using him again? Not to mention, in the remake when they finally meet face to face, he isn't surprised to see her. So he must have been suspicious of that rocket launcher that conveinantly slid down from somewhere over his head during his final fight with Mr. X. In RE6, Leon has very little choice but to work with Ada, Simmons is framing him and Carla is framing Ada for the Tall Oaks zombie outbreak. Leon hasn't figured out by that fight with Chris that he's talking to Carla. And Chris never figures out that between times he saw her later on the aircraft carrier that she was wearing two different outfits and carrying two different sets of weapons. In each instance she didn't exactly have much time to change. (The real miracle is that Carla could run at all in those heels.) But besides that, there's one point where Ada is cornered by Chris and if he catches you you get a game over screen that says "Mission failed" not "You are dead" "mission failed" which usually happens when a character is dragged away somewhere but not killed. But you can also get the mission failed screen during the car chase against Carla in the sports car. So what's going on here? Start by using the story intersections to build a timeline, and you realize that in Lanshiang the timeline was so compressed that if even one team on the map didn't reach their objectives at the right time Haos is let loose and the whole planet is infected with C virus. If Chris catches Ada for example, he calls the mission over more than likely and starts searching the ship for evidence, putting him in the harbor when the missile hits and unable to react in time to rescue Sherry and Jake. He doesn't find Haos in time because he's busy combing an aircraft carrier sized crime scene (and possibly even having to fight off boss Carla too!) So ask yourself, at what point in that entire hellacious night in China did anyone have the chance to stop and think about all the evidence that was coming to light? Not a one. Ada maybe had ten minutes on a train at MOST. And she was the only one that knew most of what was going on. (There's no way she could have known about Haos, as far as she knew killing Carla and Simmons was the only priority that night.)

This is exactly why i think ethan is the most underrated re protagonist, it has ALWAYS confused me as to why people dont like him, hes like the only re protagonist whos just a normal dude for the most part, he just feels like a normal guy who has to go through an actual living hell TWICE just to save his family, bro got beat up, stabbed, chopped up, tossed around, thrown down multiple stories MULTIPLE times, but he keeps fighting for his family, and in the end, he sacrificed himself to save them, thats just so fuckin cool to me, i love a character with a SATISFYING arc, a sad one, but hes like the only resident evil character who isnt a damn superhero💀 (besides his mold healing powers)

I have a theory that all the Resident Evil protagonists but Chris are just slightly mutated to be super human. It explains Leon's insane acrobatics in RE Vendetta and how he's able to survive game after game. But I'll even theorize a step further and question whether or not Umbrella was stacking STARS with people they thought were immune, partly immune, or resistant to their bioweapons, or that would have made good BOWs. If the outbreak hadn't happened, Leon likely would have worked his way up to STARS after awhile. Which makes me wonder, did Umbrella push some buttons to have him sent there? Leon was coming in from outside town. So did he really live in Racoon City? Or was RPD's police academy outside of town? Where exactly did he train? Plus I mean is it just coincidence Chris ended up employed under an Umbrella undercover operative, is that brawny, and just happened to be working in the same city where Tyrant research was going on? I think not. Guy is a fucking unit. Makes me wonder if the outbreak hadn't happened, would Chris have been abducted and turned into a Tyrant?
