Not really a mod. Just what I would do on re balancing this game.

To be honest, I found Super Sonic worse in Zero Gravity. They almost completely nerfed him in the sequel. Super Sonic is very hit and miss in the original. He would be better if he was overpowered.

Slater_Danger it’s not. When you jump into it at the right angle you’ll kind of grind on it like how sonic can run on walls in his other games. You can do this in both the daytime and nighttime versions of that stage. I don’t think it increases your speed, just redirects you without you loosing any.

How I would balance SS and why: - Make air capsules restore rings (but not as much as proper ring capsules) and give average ring recovery for high-level tricks. (possibly S or higher) - Keep rails, fly ramps, breakables ringless. (the benefit of having all 3 should come from unique lap routes methinks) - If he is immune to boost attacks, SS shouldn't be able to attack others with his boost. (same for twister traps) - If the above is implemented, keep the Boost Cost high, make the (inutilized) twister and drifting costs lower. - Remove the board from his boosting animation. (regular sonic's vanishes and comes back, why he gotta hold it now?)

My opinions on your ideas. 1. Perfect! No changes. 2. Smart move! It makes players use rails, ramps, and breakables wisely. No changes there, either. 3. Ehh, I think he should be able to attack with his Super Sonic Boost and that he should always use it as long as he is in his Super form. As a trade-off, he cannot drop tornadoes behind him at all. Inputting the Tornado command will instead turn Sonic into Super Sonic and vice versa (if he has 50+ rings; otherwise, it does nothing.). While Super Sonic can revert to normal via player input, he cannot transform into Super Sonic again unless he has 50+ rings (just like in the mainline entries). 4. Super Sonic has unlimited air, so doing that won't change anything. And about him having unlimited air, that should remain as is. He's Super Sonic, after all. 5. I say remove the Gear altogether. He doesn't need it! He'll either be on the ground running or flying in his Super form.

I respect both of your opinions, but because of what the fans have criticized in the past, SEGA has been almost forced to use the same idea over again. An example of the fans hating a new idea is the night stages in Sonic Unleashed, (which personally I agree with) but yeah, SEGA has a right to be scared to use new ideas.

@@xeno8092 The problem isn't Sega trying new ideas. The problem is Sega doing long lines of strong drugs before implementing new ideas. Making Sonic Unleashed was amazing, and then the drastic game play changes from day to night ruined half the game. Sonic Riders has incredible music and presentation, but the level designs, imbalanced combat, short track list, and fucking the entire concept up with Zero Gravity ruined it. Secret Rings was actually OK, but fucking THAT up with The Black Knight fucked up THAT concept. Then there's Lost World fucking up the work they did with Wisps and Sonic Colors, Sonic Forces fucking up the anniversary...it just piles on. Sega has an issue of having amazing ideas with Sonic and horrible implementation of those ideas. Sonic Riders is an incredibly stylish concept, but it needs more than a base concept to be a good game and Sega keeps fucking up the "good game" part of the equation. Sonic needs a winning formula or two before branching out into new territory, like how Nintendo does it with their IPs.

Yeah Super Sonic is far worse in zero gravity. The use of gravity control/dive is pretty much required to win races, and SS can easily burn all of his rings with just one drift. I have tried to "mod" ZG once before with CE but it didn't really work out for me. Maybe I'll try something again.

Well what I really liked about ZG Super Sonic is that he gets a speed boost which gives him a really good speed AND to make it even better he has a magnetic barrier too. Meanwhile here in Riders Super Sonic has to rely on shortcuts because his boost burns his rings massively per boost. The courses also have drift sections where you also need to waste rings. It doesn't help the fact that it's not easy to manage Sonic to be transformed.

I know this video is pretty old by now, but I was just able to do this for the PS2 version of the game, the american version at least. Here are the addresses you have to freeze with the certain values: Freeze the address 20499FD6 with the value 207. Freeze the address 2049A6D6 with the value 2. Both need to have the single byte type. I know this is useless maybe, but you're welcome anyway. Edit: Alternatively, if you use PCSX2, create a file in the cheats folder named "B44896B7.pnach" and using notepad insert the following text in the file: patch=1,EE,00499FD6,extended,000000CF patch=1,EE,0049A6D6,extended,00000002

I don’t understand why Super sonic in Sonic riders and in ZG is just so bad. Isn’t he supposed to be like the best thing in a sonic game? Unless one knew what they were doing, it was almost impossible to win with him on Zero G. If they were going to make him so bad, why make him hard to get? I remember struggling sooo much on zero g trying to unlock him as the later challenges can get quite difficult. When I finally did get him, I was super excited to play as him............ only to be disappointed with how TRASH he was. Seriously, if something is hard to get, it should be WORTHWHILE to get. The ‘hand cannon’ in Resident Evil 4 is a good example. It’s not easy to unlock, and takes time, but it’s one of the best weapons in the game.

It really makes Super Sonic feel really powerful, like a reward for all the work you've done it'd be worth using a character that is purposely overpowered, right? Think: Sonic 3 AIR.
