I still not understand the relationship between PTP and SyncE? Can you provide a brief explanation? How does PTP alone compare to PTP + SyncE?

PTP is a similar concept as NTP, that is a protocol to destribute accurate time. SyncE is a method to distribute an accurate signal clock over networks. As mentioned, in the old TDM telecom network, that was done as part of the signal, with a T1 providing a very accurate 1.544 MHz clock. With SyncE, the Ethernet signalling is used to carry the clock signal. PTP can be carried over SyncE, for best accuracy, but it doesn't have to be. For example, it is also used on the 4G & 5G cell networks to ensure a time of day clock, accurate within 1.5 µS at the phone or other device.

Are you referring to Network Interface Card here ?
