Answer is simple. Turkish team had very talented players and always forced semifinals even finals. But Turkish team didn't have a super dominant player who saves the stressfull periods like Boskovich or Egonu... And Vargas fixed that position and carried Turkish team to another level. Turkish team was a very good team but now it is really in much higher level.

Karakurt and specialy Vargas are on a level , rarely seen in Volleyball. Of course the whole Team is fantastic. It would never been possible to win all cups in 2023 if not every member of the team is on the top performance, because all opppsing teams were very strong. You all give credit to Vargas for Türkiye's outstanding performance on the last international competitions, but we all know it's not just her. I think Santarelli has found the perfect way to make all the pieces work toghether perfectly and create a victorius team (what Guidetti could no longer do). Vargas is a key player indeed, but it takes a WHOLE team and coordinate work to succeed just like Türkiye has done under Santarelli's guidance.

tbh as a turkish person i agree but i think vargas was our missing piece. turkiye was pushing until semi-finals and even finals, güneş, erdem, karakurt, baladın, örge, şahin... they're incredible players but after we included vargas in our team we became unstoppable.

If volleyball were a sport where a single player was successful on his own, Sweden would be champion every year with Isabella Haak. That's why my advice to Serbian and Italian haters is to respect your opponent. Volleyball is not such a simple sport like that. You were not successful against us with Egonu and Boskovic. Why couldn't your Nigerian and Bosnian Serb superstar players beat us on their own ? Sometimes being able to congratulate the opponent is also a virtue. I advise. P.S / The Serbs gave Vargas a Serbian passport before us so that she could play in their national team. There may be people who don't know this. But Türkiye acted faster. They are upset about this right now. Also, now Italians made Andropova their citizenship and they added her to their national team. 1) We found the missing piece of our already great team: The superstar Melissa Vargas. 2)Santarelli, the magician, came. He included the key players that Guidetti haven’t picked so far to the roster (Gizem Örge, Aslı Kalaç). He established a whole new game plan, and even changed the position of some players. He is a much more positive person than Guidetti, his energy clicked with the girls. 3) After winning against the biggest teams, we passed the psychological threshold and gained the winner mentality. That’s how we became the World’s Number 1 with 38.8 points ahead of the second 🧿🧿. 2023 was the year of this brand new Turkish 🇹🇷 team. We won all the cups possible. We were the only team that qualified for the Olympics without any defeat and with the most points 🧿🧿. This year we have to prove that it was not a one time thing. It is how we are now, and we should keep our winning streak or at least always play for the top 3.

For a very very long time; russia brasil poland usa turkey and japan have always been the top volleyball players in the world. It is no surprise to see one of these teams get a medal.
