The problem with people calling others the “next messi” there’s always gonna be media attention. But that kind of pressure triggers them, to the point that everyone expects that person to perfect the same craft as Messi. However, Messi is one of a kind, he’s not exactly a player who’s style you can replicate, his is god gifted talent, no matter how much effort you put in, Messi’s style is something out of this world, you can try to copy it but it’s not 100 percent accurate or the same way the original will be.

i personally think that kubo has more potential than mitoma. hes a very solid player with good fundamentals at only 21 and an aggression that many japanese players dont have- which is probably the product of playing in spain for quite awhile from a young age. im curious of what he'll become in 2-3 years time. will he become a star? or will he overexert himself and get ronaldo'ed?

Kubo’s definitely had this high potential since a young age, while Mitoma is more of a “late bloomer” to an extent, Kubo has always been a highly rated prospect since he was young. However, let’s see what the future holds for him, he’s having a decent first season at Sociedad!

He may have potential but he's still far from Mitoma atm. Mitoma is currently one of the best players in the pl due to his great form so Kubo has a lot to do before he reaches Mitoma's level
