How Taxi Apps Manipulate Your Cab Fares

Cab drivers demand extra money like 200 extra than what is showing on the app,and they come to pick you up only if you agree to pay extra otherwise the driver doesn't come to pick you up.also driver asks you to cancel the ride instead of cancellation by himself. If you cancel the ride for booking another one,The ola ,uber etc charges you a cancellation fee.

For a distance of 700 meters Uber was charging 139/- at 12:00 am (27th Dec) just because it was drizzling ... they usually charge 40 Rs/-. There were 3 cabs waiting at the metro station (idle) as you hardly get anyone at that hour...seems like ola and uber have formed a car-tel and they both hike prices at the same time.

There should be minimum charges for cab for 5 kilometers unless you use promode code no way you can expect a cab for 40 rs whether its 700 meters or 5 kilometers it should bee 139

Still far, far better than local taxis, which run like a Mafia. Local drivers charge 1000 to 2000 for airport rides in most cities with no tracking or safety guaranteed. At least I can still use my Uber or Rapido for 600 to 700 airport rides, and my family members can track me!

No I have stopped booking from Uber or ola I am booking only from Namma yatri app in bangalore with reasonable fare ..

This is not true. The issue of fare difference is due to the phone taking the current location differently for different devices. Try logging into the same account (since promos are different for different accounts) and put the start and end location exactly in the search bar. I am sure you will see the same price irrespective of battery, operating system (iOS/android) etc.. The dynamic pricing in these companies is a function of the demand and supply, not of OS, battery etc.
