As a bama fan looking at all of this stuff is like looking at a billion dollars 😂 y’all should see the video about all the Nike gear they have and how they fit them for cleats, they have a machine that makes custom cleats for each foot, left and right foot may be different so a lot of players may have an 11 on their left and 12.5 on the right.

I was a student assistant equipment manager for my universities football team and I loved seeing how similar the process of prepping for game day is. Just wished they would've thrown in a couple of the players as there are always some that are super cool with the equipment guys.

Senior, 4th year EQ guy here at Troy University! South of Tuscaloosa, I am honestly very surprised by how similar our teams operate, we operate with 12 guys instead of 15. Biggest difference is that we have all our facilities in the same spot so we do not have to move equipment for home games, also we will treat our white jerseys until they are ready for the next time we need them so we do not have to buy new ones every year. When I played high school football, our equipment staff was the coaching staff. Also, the players were responsible for new shoes and any accessories (gloves, wrist bands).

@@SportsDissectedI was part of a group who assisted in helping in some sort of capacity like this I was part of the athletic training staff in community college ( west Los Angeles college) what would happen is myself and 3 others ( all women) would come in at about 12pm ( the games started a 5pm on Saturday) and we would have our assignments (one of us would handle cuts of us would handle taping and I would be the ancillary who would fill up water bottles with Gatorade and transfer all players to be taped before home games and as a group we would talk to coaches to make sure we are all on the same pages ( imagine having to fill up 99 water bottles so that the guys didn’t get the bubble guts ) #WHONEEDSBICEPCURLS

It’s crazy how much money is spent, earned etc, just for these kids to play ball. It really is the life to live, a lot of these kids will look back on highschool/college and remember themselves as stars, treated like royalty. I’d kill to live a student athlete life.

KInd of reminds me when I was at Bama almost 50 years ago and we set up the stages for Elton John, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Doobie Brothers, and others. There is a huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to put on the show. This isn't much different.

In the future you should check out Ga Southern or even Ga States new basketball arenas both are going to be $60 million and pretty modern. Both will be in close proximity to the football facilities.

Far cry from my JUCO days when helmets and facemasks were in one corner of the gym, pants & pads in another, shoulder pads in another, and shoes in the last corner. You had to put on your own facemask, find shoes that fit, and shoulder pads that smelled the least.

Gloves, Socks, Tape will be provided by the equipment staff, they will probably have wristbands and whatever else they can get from nike in terms of accessories but the player will bring them in his personal bag to the game
