+LIGER ZERO to be fair, in 2011 he was voted Australian Super Rugby Player of the Year (there are 5 australian teams to choose from!) He went on to captain the wallabies against USA during this world cup, he won the Pilecki medal twice given for being an outstanding player for his city team (queensland reds), and last but not least, he was featured in the starting line up for RWC 2011and played in the semi-final match (this match). Are you telling me during 2011 he played his worst? lol piss off. He was in his prime here and you know it, stop trolling.

+LIGER ZERO Gwarden was saying the turnover richie did was insane, you replied to be fair genia is worst half back in australian history, I'm saying in 2011 genia was brilliant. So whats your point? genia sucks now? we're not talking about now, we're taking about this game in 2011.

liger your argument is pretty invalid bruh..if he was performing so bad, and his percentage of performance dropped, or whatever you're saying, wouldnt you think the selectors would have cast him out? rather than let him play on. I'm sure the selectors know more about their Job than you do about theirs. Thats why you're here, and they are selecting.

***** "Australia probably has a half dozen flankers in their super rugby franchises right now that are better than him." Yep, definitely an Aussie. Richie outplayed Pocock again in the 2015 rwc final and made him look like the one dimensional, and overrated player that he is. I mean, apart from pilfering, what else does Pocock do? He has no running game, no linking game and his lineout play is non existent. Way overrated by the Aussie media and fans... Take a look at the stats on Green and Gold, Richie had 70% more involvement at ruck time, just as many turnovers, made three times more running metres than Pocock and was the first three to the breakdown 55 times as opposed to Pocock's 34. I actually can't remember Pocock outplaying McCaw when it really matters, same with George Smith before him. As for these six flankers, who are they? McCaw is head and shoulders above any flanker in the world atm in terms of workrate. If we are talking pure skills, then I will give it to Ardie Savea, but Richie is still the best overall flanker imo.

+LIGER ZERO "But you are simply filled with too much arrogance and bigotry to see clearly." You're talking as though I am the only one in the world who rates McCaw highly. Mate, most people involved in the game, including ex wallaby players have rated him as either the best or in the top three of all time. And frankly I think you have to be blind to suggest that Pocock outplayed Richie in the final. Pocock was great at what he does, which is pilfering, but there's so many other aspects to a flanker's play that you conveniently don't seem to be interested in. Playing the Pooper for instance severely weakened your lineout and the ABs got four lineout turnovers as a result of that. Here's the Green and Gold link that you requested. www.greenandgoldrugby.com/rwc-final-ruck-analysis-all-blacks-v-wallabies/ "This is the 2nd world cup in a row where the referee has won you guys the final." Liger, not one Aussie I know including even the most biased ones have said that the ref cost Australia the game. You are the only one. I suggest you watch the game again with both eyes open, and try to show some objectivity. I watched Pocock come in from the side a few times, including at the ruck that led to his first turnover at the 18.05 mark, but of course you will deny it. And I'm ok with what Pocock did, as that's the role of a decent no 7. I also saw Kepu not get a yellow after three head high tackles, which was a complete joke, but you just have to deal with the dud calls. The ref missed a blatant spear tackle on Nonu in the 21st minute which should have been a yellow as well. At 47.53, McCaw gets a legitimate turnover and is subsequently cleaned out by Hooper from the side and then he lies all over McCaw which prevents the ball from coming out. That should have been a penalty to NZ but a scrum was awarded to Aussie instead, and two minutes later Ben Smith gets binned and Australia scores a try. Dud calls were made both ways, it's the team that handles it better that comes out on top. NZ did and Australia didn't. Your list of flankers btw are frankly a joke and no hint of Aussie bias at all coming through lol. Butler? You have to be kidding me. Basically the All Black pack demolished the wallaby eight, and if not for Ben Smith's brainfart, this average wallaby team , who were extremely lucky to get past that superpower known as Scotland, courtesy of a dud call from the ref, would have been slaughtered by forty points.
@07Gixxer
@07Gixxer 9 жыл бұрын
+LIGER ZERO Its ok to feel like that :) Keep looking for excuses why the All Blacks continue to dominate World Rugby. Wallabies were never going to win. Even when momentum swung their way the ABs found a way to swing it back. Remember it was the ref that actually let the Wallabies back into the game with the yellow card when Kepu could have easily been yellow carded for his indiscretion! Wallabies done unreal to get where they did, and in a few years time the Bledisloe will be in Australia. Just not yet

After thinking this is rubbish. It is actually a good way to knock out a player, and if the coach said so, he's a genius. Otherwise it is just positional play; Pocock has his job, and Ab players know how to respond as an opposite player, rather than some master plan. I'd give this a vid a 25% chance of being true to the letter.

+Toy Mit making Pocock be the tackler is a definite tactic of the ABs, McCaw has even talked publicly about it. Thorn and Weepu didn't just happen to step back into Pocock in the video above, they were looking for him to force him to make the tackle so he couldn't come in and go for the turnover

Love him or hate him Richie McCaw has set the blueprint on how to be as effective as possible. Pocock will dominate the breakdown without question with McCaws imminent retirement.

+SWG 92 He's actually a lot faster than Pocock, and was even faster in his younger days. And his workrate is a lot higher than Pocock's. Pocock is somewhat overrated imo, because somehow pilfering skills is given more accolades than all other aspects of loose forward play. I really do not know why this is the case.

No great analysis. this is what we did this years would cup. follow pocock through most of the game especially the last 12mins when the game was in the balance. Pocock makes a big mistake through out those minutes every time he is close to the tackle ball and cant make a steal he stands back and raises this hand? this gives arron smith a signal that he is near by so instead of passing it to a close forward to run hes passes two wide to make pocock the second man to the tackle not the first. also the last 10minutes when arron smith see pocock near he runs to him which makes him think that he is going tackle arron but our half back fakes to run then passes to the opposite side to where pocock was. It was beautiful just following pocock last 10mins we made him look like a fool watch it you see what i mean
