CC for some bts commentary. EDIT DISCLAIMER: This is NOT A TUTORIAL on how to do the Assault Style. This is just a showcase of what an Assault run can look like; much like videos about doing perfect Ghost runs or "stealth kills" videos by StealthGamerBR or Swiftly Unknown. You are not meant to copy this exactly (I mean, you can. It'll just be more fun to figure out your own paths) so you can achieve an Assault Mastery. And if you want to do a similar style, you HAVE to sink in hours and hours of playtime knowing the specific mechanics of this game. This style is IMPOSSIBLE for first-time players... as are the other styles, anyway.

Yeah, I agree! Chaos Theory was almost perfect in every regard. My favourite story out of all of them. If they ever remade it, all they'd need to change for my taste is a bit of mobility/omitted moves and more accurate aimed shots with the pistol. Just made Sam look like a bad pistol marksman :D Also, no Michael Ironside, no Splinter Cell. Or at least no Sam Fisher. If they ever reboot and don't get Ironside then let's just play as another Splinter Cell agent, no harm in passing the torch.
@megafan5232 жыл бұрын
@@CalamityCain The pistol mechanics are probably just for gameplay enhancements; you're a stealth agent who's supposed to make as little noise as possible, it makes no sense to make you a killing machine.
@CalamityCain2 жыл бұрын
@@megafan523 No, no, no, I don't want to be able to be a killing machine. That's exactly why I didn't like the last two Splinter Cell games. I love Thief, because fighting more than one enemy who noticed you at the same time is so damn hard. Garrett is only euqipped with a shortbow and a dagger after all. I love sticking to the shadows, don't get me wrong. What I don't like is how enemies notice me when I play perfectly stealthy but deadly at the same time. When Sam sits there in the shadows, observing his enemy, lining up the perfect shot yet still missing his target by five inches, now that's just plain lame. If I did want to be a killing machine, I'd equip the foregrip attachment and, later in the game, shotgun and sniper modules. The game just chose to make the pistol suck for no real reason imho. It's a minor gripe, really, you don't have to agree. I still think it's a 10/10 near perfect stealth game 😉
@megafan5232 жыл бұрын
@@CalamityCain Okay, that makes a lot more sense; I definitely agree with you there, missing your shot by a few pixels definitely gets really annoying, especially when you have to do it quickly. And it's bad even if you aren't aiming to kill, you still need the pistol to turn off the lasers etc, and I can definitely vouch about how annoying accuracy gets then.

My favorite part of this level, after knowing what happened previously in Conviction, is the moment they meet. The brief moment when Kobin has to process who it is, and the sheer panic at the realization, is such absolutely bomb writing. This game is so underrated. Thats the thing this game would be fantastic as a splinter cell spinoff showing that splinter cells can be super lethal If they just changed the story to not be sam it’d be fantastic Hell id love to see this with archer and kestrel But bc they used mainline sc and sam it falls short on the stealth

They either could have taken this new Sam and changed his name... Or outright just make Briggs the new mc.

@@CrossfeetGaming fr tho its a under appreciated game as it does away with the traditional ghost stealth of the old games despite being a banger of a game

Should've made Sam the new Lambert. Ruins the immersion for me seeing Grim and Fisher look like they are 40 here when they're that age during Georgian War/Splinter Cell 1

@@junioraltamontent.7582 fr tho or even just have them removed outright in general Straight up a entire game like the conviction or chaos theory co-op would be fantastic

@@CrossfeetGaming you can't really win though, because if they had made a Splinter Cell with a different character, then it would have been "I'm not playing a Splinter Cell where Sam isn't the main character, no Sam no buy." Damned if you do, damned if you don't

I didn’t even know you could do half of this stuff. Your definitely giving this game the credit it deserves, I can’t wait for the remastered game to come out in the coming year(s)

I discovered a lot of stuff along the way making this Stealth Assault series. i.e. using human grenades

@@CrossfeetGaming I can imagine. I don’t even think Ubisoft showed gameplay this smooth in a “loud” setting, at launch haha

One of the best game made

I mean, arguable. But, honestly, I'm just impressed by how slick you can make this game look.
