A Richard Long fan since the 1950s. I remember that first heart attack in 1961 when he was only 33. I also remember he grew into such a good actor that you could tell the characters he played were different from each other, not just RL reading different lines. He had the charming con man down pat, as well as the noble western lawyer and funny math professor. He really made Jarrod come alive.

My favorite line in the Thornbirds was when she said she was a 20 year old trapped in a 80 year old body. I can really relate to this since it would be great to have a do over when it comes to our younger years. Archie Bunker was right; those were the days.

Interesting. But I remember reading that Michael Landon's Joe Cartwright was the fastest gun on tv at that time. Both he and Peter Breck were terrific actors and a shootout between them would have been fun. The old westerns bring back good memories of younger days when right and wrong made sense and family were honoured and loved. They bring solace in these uncertain times. Thankyou.
