When the Browns played the Ravens, the Ravens’ first 2 or 3 possession were 3 and out. They got the turnover and ran it back inside the 10. That is how the Ravens scored their first TD.

This is ridiculous. The Ravens ran it down Clevelands throats. Lamar was very good. The rookie QB hurt Cleveland no doubt, and the first TD was on a short field but the Ravens O line dominated the Browns front in the run game. Ravens were missing their starting LT and Odell and Bateman. Ravens took their foot off the gas. Lamar was 15-19 lol

@@frankl35182 td’s were at the 20 & 30 yd line. Lamar played his asss off forsure and I think he ends up the mvp; but the browns d shut down every receiver whenever they weren’t forced to start a drive backed up super close to their own goal line. Lamar only won that game for the ravens because he was able to run, both long drive td’s were from Lamar running not from anyone else on that ravens team which is good on Lamar imo

Yeah the Eagles and the Lions can try replicate the chaos up front but credit to the back 7 of that Browns team who are allowed to be bullies playing man coverage/run defense (Solak cannot stop singing the praises of Grant Delpit) while Schwartz keeps it simple. Can't say if the former teams have those bullies who can fight back the Niners skilled players on offense.

The Ravens game was a preview for the Browns defense for what they'd see with the 49ers and they failed as the Ravens did a nice job of using the Browns aggression against them in the run game. The bye came at a great time as it allowed the team to work on communication as 3/4s of the DLine are new to the team. Still, the biggest difference between the two games was Lamar Jackson. He's always great vs. Cleveland and his speed took away much of the advantage of the Browns speed pass rush, especially as they tired. At that point it came down to whether Lamar could hit his passes. He's not normally a great downfield passer but on that day he couldn't miss. Purdy can't move like Lamar (no one can) and didn't hit his passes. That was the difference between the two games.

Dude, excellent work. You show what 'normal' is then show the difference. That's perfect. You probably don't need to rewind it repeatedly & say as much in addition once you've l;aid out your basic point (unless this is also part application to be an NFL coach). The sad fact is the amount of work that you need to put into analysis yields precious little return in usable video. At least in _this_ case. But I'll definitely check out more of 'em to see if it doesn't apply to 'em all. Awesome.

On that pass to BA, I still think BA cut back a bit too much, I dont' want to overrate Purdy, though he is playing really well, but I think in some passes he knows the route better than the receiver and is expecting a bit more acceleration or a bit less in some intermediate routes. Even in that miss against CMC, it's a bad throw, but it makes sense, CMC cuts inside and Purdy is moving to his right, so it is more natural to look for the outside pass instead of throwing across your body to the hashes, If CMC moves outside once the CB is beaten is an easier pass, but the throw was bad anyway.

The Ravens were 2-for-9 on 3rd down through three quarters and finished 4-for-14 for the game. The Browns defense more than did its job. The problem was their offense couldn't even get a first down. They were having a hard time getting positive yardage with DTR at QB. The Ravens finished with 28 points -- sure -- but there were tons of turnovers in there and the defense was on the field the entire game. "This is the worry... this is the worry!" Really wasn't much of a worry, tbh.

Great video except when you said the lions and eagles can do the same to the niners. The browns D played great but the rain, missed field goal, uncharacteristic WR drops, injuries to key players and crazy amount of penalties really tipped the scales for the niners and they still almost won. The niners were constantly behind the sticks due to penalties so it made their pass rush far more effective. Both of those teams are formidable but this was a confluence of factors working against the niners that won't be replicated in other games.
