I loved Dolores's Limerick accent, so beautiful. I remember watching an interview where Dolores said that the record company wanted her to sing with less of an accent. She said no, she wanted to sing in her normal accent, which made her unique. The record company was worried that no one would be able to understand her, but I never had an issue. I thought it was very neat to hear how she sang and pronounced certain words.

i was a 90"s teen but appreciation for this band came well past their 90's heyday. I mean riverdance and celtic music was in vogue in the 90's & an insecure teenage boy with limited taste was just not gonna get into a band with a river dance vibe and a female lead singer. Now though, I see what a genuine talent O'reardon was. all i want to add is ,stop what u are doing and watch the npr tiny desk concert by the cranberries, here on youtube. it is an amazing live performance

@XanArt21 Жыл бұрын
They were massive basically everywhere... 'Ode to My Family' was a big song from NNTA as well. The other two singles not so much... but 'I Can't be with You' and 'Ridiculous Thoughts' were always massive bangers live. That whole album is strong although Zombie is not as representative for it (I actually skipped Zombie a lot back in the day, cause you would hear it on the radio anyway)... it has lots of softer moodier songs... 'Ridiculous Thoughts' and 'I Can't Be With You' are the other two uptempo ones. 'So Cold In Ireland' was left of that album (it is on the Complete Sessions and Deluxe 25th anniversary one) but is actually the most comparable to Zombie...

I really don’t think Dolores O’Riordan get’s enough credit. In my opinion she’s one of the greatest female vocalists of all time, she can sing pretty much any genre. And she really wants just a beautiful soul inside and out, and she didn’t need to sexually exploit herself or wear Trimpi, skimpy skin tight outfits to get her point across or make a statement. I was exposed to the cranberries through my mom as a kid, she had a cassette of their first album everyone else is doing it so I can’t wait, and she had their next two albums on CD. It wasn’t until a few years after she passed away, that I really started to get into their stuff. these past two years or so I feel like I finally have found a new found appreciation for them I’ve always loved and enjoyed them, but I I feel like as I’ve gotten older and matured and since she’s passed away rest in peace, i’ve gained greater respect for them and since then they’re one of my top three bands of all time next to the Beatles, and the Smiths.
